Unreal Engine 5 Showcase 2023 video shows off next-gen graphics

Epic Games has shared a new video for Unreal Engine 5 at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase 2023, showing off some truly next-gen graphics.

For this video, Epic Games used clips from environments that various artists have created in Unreal Engine 5. For instance, you can find a The Witcher-inspired environment, as well as a Call of Cthulhu map. There is also a cinematic version of The Matrix Demo. And yes, Epic has also included the mind-blowing Etchu Daimon Station.

We'll be 3 years in the gen this holiday and we're still getting wait for next gen showcases?

The hells goin on?

gold_drake748d ago

yeh, but we had the pandemic for 2 of those years.

let them catch up abit will ya.

just_looken748d ago

not a excuse we have had remote working laptops and large teams in billion dollar companies for years.

There is no excuse that these mega huge companies cant catch up after a year lockdown that happened 2 years ago.

If they stopped increasing profits year to year by over 15-25% then things might change.

Hey amd has 3 gpu's that are out with coming soon features fsr 3.0 and full rnda 3.0 drivers are not out 8 months after cards were tossed out.

NVIDIA has features on there 3000 series not being used

Then you got other game engines besides unreal just sitting back not being used because they do not have a storefront or like wasting billions like epic.

The whole industry is in a weird state right now unreal engine 5 itself so far alot of the games using it have shader issues or just holy bible size patches.

I will leave this here i watched the ue5 footage not impressed

Cry engine its gone now sense every game company is on board with epic store exclusive cheap unreal engine with auto ai building but checkout this 3yr old 2019 cryengine showcase

Everyone demands a performance mode. It takes away from what is possible at 30fps.

Its the same thing as holding back via a weak console

“We'll be 3 years in the gen this holiday and we're still getting wait for next gen showcases? “

Happens every gen though. The graphics keep getting better every year. Remember the jump that was made to graphics on the 360 when Gears dropped with UE3? Three gens later and UE5 games are a little behind this time as development is far more expensive now.

My rog ally handheld has zen 4 cpu and rdna3 4nm process 8.6tflop gpu so its should support and play unreal5 real good 1080p 60fps.

There was a time when I preferred CryEngine over Unreal back in the Cysis 1 and 2 era, but now it seems to me like Unreal Engine has left the CryEngine far behind in the dust of the past

Cyberpunk 2077 finally hit that sweet sale price for me so I went ahead and picked it up. I just started playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 though so it’ll be a while before I delve into Night City. Looking forward to it though.

I appreciate the article but this guy must be living in a delayed universe, The reputation was ruined 10+ years ago and hasn't recovered since. As such people have voted with their wallets and stopped buying Xbox products in large amounts.

Their reputation was lost way before that. From the moment Microsoft said they entering the console business, we all knew it would be a downgrade.

What reputation is this threatening exactly? 😂

Rumors of Turn 10 being either shut down or hit with massive lay offs is on the horizon.

The issue is MS will do something right only to do something very, very wrong. And they do this what seems calculative at this point. Doesn't matter what they do the Investors and leadership want more and more money an endless bottomless pit of purr insatiable greed. A company that acts like it's broke or hurting is what really, really infuriates me. They've surpassed apple again well over 3 trillion who acts like they're a million dollar company is fk stupid. Pivots and changes for no reason and can't do things for more than a year with out a pivot or changing their metrics.

That would be really bad since Phil just hyped up next year as a big Forza year at Summer Game Fest.

@christopher: “ That would be really bad since Phil just hyped up next year as a big Forza year at Summer Game Fest”
The key word big can be ether good or bad 🤷🏿only time can tell

DarXyde4h ago

First Forza being generated entirely via AI?

If any company would do it, it'd be them.
