Hideo Kojima Reveals He Hand-Picked DS2’s Cast As ‘Special Partners With Whom I Can Fight Together’

Hideo Kojima has revealed on Twitter that he selected the cast for Death Stranding 2 himself rather than employing the use of casting agencies.

While the Metal Gear creator does go to agencies to draft contacts, the actual talent is chosen by himself, describing the process as selecting “special partners with whom I can fight together.” In addition, he also revealed that the Japanese cast has yet be decided.

Lol. hand picks people that don’t know any better.

uh… his avenues for casting have always been “hand picked” and not typical (at all) casting.

Pretty sure if your agent tells you that Kojima called and wants you for his game, you say yes.

I'll day 1 this game when it releases.

anast479d ago

I'm going to replay the first one when I have time. I got addicted to build roads in my first play through, I'm not sure what I'll do on the next.

Count me in as well, can't wait to see what Kojima does once again with the Decima Engine.

100% me aswell. In the first I ended up doing everything possible in the end game. Did all the deliveries on hardest mode. I just loved it. When I was doing all the deliveries in the end game, I was listening to podcasts as well lol. So I put in close to 200 hours in the first game haha

i'll day 1 anything Kojima makes

sadraiden479d ago

Absurd to me that after MGS 1-V legendary run, that anyone would be on the fence about whether or not they want to play a new Kojima game. People hand-wringing over whether or not the game is something they want to play was hilarious to watch while I was ziplining across mountain ranges and getting an otter hat from Conan Obrien.

Never played part 1 is it really just a chore delivering game like others say ? I been slick wanting to play

Syphos479d ago

It's a slow paced game, not a walking simulator like a lot of the critical people make it out to be, sure there is a lot of delivering to be done but honestly, it's just a unique experience of which the delivery happens to be a part and it actually boosts the not delivery parts of the game imo, because the pace switches from relaxed/zen to action/philosophic/horror/stor ytelling etc.

It's just... a really solid creative take on trying something new imo.

sadraiden479d ago

It's not a chore. It's a slow burn. And it's rewarding as hell.

Death Stranding cast is phenomenal all around. It's like a dream team of creative rebels.

Having a hard time seeing Elle Fanning doing any fighting. She is even more petite than Margaret Qualley.
