Electronic Arts has confirmed that while F1 23 will support PC VR it will not support PSVR 2 on PlayStation 5.
Push Square writes: "A dedicated PSVR2 app has been published to PC platform Steam ahead of expanded compatibility for the VR headset going live on 7th August 2024. The application will be available the day before, and it guides you through the setup of the device for use on PC as well as acting as the place to update the headset and its Sense controllers when patches become available."
PS Blog:
It’s time to see which PS5, PS4, PS VR2, PS VR, and free-to-play games topped the download charts last month.
The launch of the huge new expansion Shadow of the Erdtree catapulted Elden Ring back up the PS5 charts across US and Europe, while the PS VR2 list saw Beat Saber rocking back to the top of the chart in the US and European regions.
“Another month has passed us by recently so let's take a look at the 12 very best indie games that we reviewed in June 2024. Hooray!” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.
Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.
But it's EA. They don't think.
EA is stupid.
A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?
Nothing but stupid.
Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.
