Team Fortress 2 Finally Goes Offline On PS3 After 15 Years

Dozens, if not hundreds, of players could be affected.

Team Fortress 2 is one of Valve's most popular games, with the multiplayer FPS regularly among the titles listed in most played charts on Steam, despite not being supported all that much by its developer.

There are also console players of the game, but now it looks like one of these platforms is sadly no longer viable. TF2 arrived on Sony's PlayStation 3 as part of a package. And what a package it was. This would be The Orange Box, a compilation that included Half-Life 2, expansions for such, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. I loved this game back in the day, me and my best friend would spend hours and hours on this.

Such a shame, but no doubt it was dead years ago.

Even the 360 version is on deaths door you can spend an hour just trying to find a game.

Come on Valve, give us a full remake of the first two games and their expansions. What else are you up too?

Team Fortress 2 'native VR port' could be coming to Steam after Valve releases source code

After Valve released the Team Fortress 2 source code, developers and modders are reviving TF2 VR, making it bigger and better than ever.

Seems dumb, multiplayer fast paced VR... Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Source 2 versions of the games they had, remakes or sequels to their games should've come out like a decade ago, now they'd need a heavily upgraded Source 2 or just Source 3 to be up to par with current engines tbh..

The TF2 SDK has arrived

Valve: "Mod makers, rejoice! We've just released a massive update to the Source SDK, adding all the Team Fortress 2 client and server game code. This update will allow content creators to build completely new games based on TF2. We're also doing a big update to all our multiplayer back-catalogue Source engine titles (TF2, DoD:S, HL2:DM, CS:S, and HLDM:S), adding 64-bit binary support, a scalable HUD/UI, prediction fixes, and a lot of other improvements!"
