The extraction shooter genre might be dominated by games like Escape From Tarkov, but it's actually Warzone 2's free DMZ mode that sets the benchmark.

Is it? The mode is mind numbing. To many bots, map to big and not enough PvP.
The Hunt Showdown is still the best Extraction shooter but I can understand why not everyone would agree with me there
I think DMZ feels like a filler game mode. It seems like they just wanted to get a game mode out so they could say they have it, and then hopefully expand on it a lot more. This type of looter shooter falls under the Hunt: Showdown type where there isn't emphasis on inventory and market. In personally think the inventory management/markets, in games like Tarkov/Marauders/The Cycle (and even mobile games like Arena Breakout and Lost Light), make the game so much more fun to continuously play. Having a reason to play in order to get that kill, loot those rare items, upgrade you inventory/home base, sell things to make money - that's all what makes an extraction looter shooter so much fun. I still think there's a place for DMZ/Hunt Showdown types, but they're far from being the best in my opinion. Even a mobile game like Arena Breakout has the formula down to perfection.
It's insanely boring with nothing on the line. Only thing that ironically works is the pvp when it happens. You get a little more tactical.
