As an oft-overlooked game in the franchise canon, Resident Evil: Code Veronica deserves the remake treatment over Resident Evil 5
The top 10 most terrifying moments in Resident Evil history, from Mr. X to the Baby Monster, exploring Capcom's masterful horror design.
The shadows of rose DLC (REvillage) mannequin section is definitely top 10 worthy but is missing...
The Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil Code Veronica remakes will reportedly not be as "ambitious" as Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Understandable to me. RE4 is one of their most important title's compared to these. People like to complain about anything. Be happy RE4 turned out as good as it did…
Interesting. I would imagine it actually requires a lot more of work in terms of rewriting the story.
While I hated how they destroyed Nemesis in the RE3 remake, CV could really benefit from a major story overhaul. From the super corny opening action pumped sequence of Claire running from bullets to Jar Jar Binks level of writing of Steve character.
It's either like RE2 remake or they are keeping the static camera and redoing it in RE engine.
I think it will be like RE 2 remake and the not ambitious part is not making big set pieces or making it open with side quests like RE4 and Village.
One of Capcom’s most beloved video game franchises, Resident Evil, has finally received its next installment in the form of the fantastic Resident Evil 4 Remake. However, fans of the series couldn’t help but notice that this same courtesy was sadly not extended to Code: Veronica, the next entry after Resident Evil 3 and a crucial addition to the overall franchise. So, let’s take a look at why this great game deserves to get the same amazing treatment that Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 got.
I would have much preferred this over RE4. my parents got me a dream cast specifically for this game, even as a eleven year old(yes I started playing RE games at the age 7 my parents let me watch and play R rated movies and games) I declared it to be one of the best RE games. Right behind RE2.
I always felt that 3 was not nearly as good as 1 2 and Veronica. Even at the age of 10 years old I remember me and my friend debating over RE3 to me it has always felt like re 2.5.
RE code Veronica, to me is the last true RE game.
While I do like the beginning of RE4 and remember waking up before school after playing all night to finish it. I felt that it kinda goes off the rails and gets way to action focused half way in. Loses the creepy vibe it had in the beginning and yeah just goes to being non horror in a lot of aspects.
If Capcom skips this entry I will be truly disappointed, for some reason a lot of fans didn’t play or don’t care about this game.. to me it’s the Second best RE game they ever made.
I've said it a thousand times. It's not surprising that RE4 got a remake, but Code Veronica *needed* it before 4 was released, again. The overarching lore in CV is still unprecedented for the franchise, and they could do a lot to make the game feel modern. Maybe even flesh out the arctic base area.
I would love CV: Remake.
But would prefer a remake of 5. I know that is the unpopular consensus, but 5 gameplay with co-op is one of my favorites, especially the Merc mode for replayability.
Surely Capcom has seen enough requests being made for a Code Veronica remake. Just do it already. No I don't work for Nike.
If I have to decide between Code Veronica and RE5, then I go with Code Veronica Remake.
RE5 and 6 were more action oriented than survival horror.
I really don't think we will have to decide. It's clear these games are a huge success critically and commercially. They will remake CV, zero, 1, 5, and 6.
100% agreed, RE Code Veronica should be the next remake. I expect CAPCOM to bring out RE9 first though.
