Maybe. They certainly can't be managed very well thanks to the leadership. rainbow 6 and AC are really the only games keeping them a float. Beyond Good And Evil is forever in developmental limbo.
Every other game via live service have flopped. The only reason Splinter Cell remake is happening is because fans forced them to after rejecting all these live service none sense.
Nah. This is a public forum, thus I'll speak my mind. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)
Ubisoft literally relies on 2 franchises (FarCry and Assassin's Creed) and a bunch of rinse and repeat generic action games leeching off of the Clancy name. They can't even get games out after ten years (Skull and Bones, Beyond Good and Evil). They can't even get remakes of Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia into shelves.
Their stock is worth a tenth even of publishers like Focus Home interactive, who focus purely on indie and AA games. A shift of focus to NFTs and the mobile market. Basically begging to be acquired as of last year.
Ubi-SOFT is so past their prime and has so many issues from sexual harassment- insubordination - executive issues that bleed down to their department workers - the list goes one and on and on... Assassin Creed - Far Cry - Tom Clancy are old franchises that are rinse wash and repeat - re-skinned garbage at this point !
Actually, I'm playing FC5 at the moment and it doesn't have Ubi towers in the traditional sense. It does have some towers, but they don't unlock maps and are used for side quest purposes, so a bit different!
I was genuinely looking forward to Skull & Bones but honestly, Ubisoft just touch things a little too much and end up butchering them.
Beyond Good & Evil? Skull & Bones? They ruined Trials Ghost Recon Far Cry WatchDogs
Their games are mediocre and always, ALWAYS hit the fire sale prices by Christmas despite releasing just the month prior (WatchDogs, Assassins Creed, Far Cry being recent examples)
E3 lost everyone by prioritizing celebrities, streamers, professional athletes, and advertisers over gamers and gameplay. People got sick of it and now even dirty companies like UBIsoft want nothing to do with it.
I give E3 one maybe two more years before you see it go away for good. MS, Sony and Nintendo have all decided to go their own way with personal presentations and I'm sure more big third party developers and publishers will do the same.
I saw this coming the first time Nintendo pulled out and did their direct. There just isn't a need to do a live presentation at an event at a specific time when you can just produce your own and upload to YouTube and any other video site. Even MS and Sony started this with their own types of directs.
It started with Nintendo and Covid definitely played a huge part in it also.
The game industry made E3 because CES was getting too small for game companies to show off their games/consoles. Now most of them shun it, I feel that's a slap in the face to the game convention, and total disrespect. I never liked other game shows, don't care for Summer Game Fest, etc. Looks like E3 will never return to it's former glory, pretty damn sad.
The struggle continues. Skull and Bones delayed indefinitely now this.
Ubisoft is going to be gone in 2 years. Tops.
Nobody likes an unexpected pull out.
Lol might as well cancel E3 at this point.
Whatever happened to my beloved Unisoft 😔 been shite, going down hill since after "black flag"
