Catan: Console Edition is the digital recreation of the popular board game Catan (originally called Settlers of Catan) which was released back in 1995.
Many will be aware of the original, or even the Xbox 360 title released back in 2007, but for newcomers here’s a lowdown of the rules, which I highly recommend checking, but if you always know the ins and outs, you can skip the next two sections.
Love nothing more than a play of CATAN - Console Edition? The hordes are coming as the new Cities & Knights expansion rolls out for battle.
VGChartz's Issa Maki: "Make no mistake: Catan is one of the greatest games of the 20th century, but this isn't an instance of putting its best foot forward. Even overlooking the performance issues, there's too much to ignore: the non-functioning online multiplayer (which is perfectly fine on home consoles), restricted access to DLC, the lack of Switch-exclusive utility. Any of these would be detrimental, and together they're three bullets inside of a six-round chamber. There's roughly a 50/50 chance you might get what you want here, but results will vary greatly."
CATAN - Console Edition gets The Helpers DLC, a full Season Pass with tons of content and a new Super Deluxe edition on Xbox and PlayStation
