I love this game. Got the SNES bundle of Christmas of 1992 I think. I wanted the Genesis with Sonic 2 but this was just as good at the time. This was a huge jump from the nes Mario's and I didn't think it could get batter than Mario 3. The addition to Different Yoshi's added amazing gameplay.
As a kid I only struggled with a few levels like ones on Star Road or whatever, the rest of the game was easy/moderately difficult at best. Mario 3 was more of a challenge, not sure why they insist on making most of the games easier these days, I guess it's part of the hand holding cry baby rubbish.
If you're reading this thinking "I wish people still made games like this", you might be interested in a new NES game I'm working on that is heavily inspired by the Super Mario Bros. series!
It’s the first videogame I ever played. It’s probably a huge part of the reason why I’m a gamer. I was four and walked into the first Goomba and died, but it clearly left its mark on me. I’ve played through it a number of times and think it’s still fantastic to this day.
Beautiful, colorful graphics Perfectly tight gameplay Lots of levels and even more ways to finish them all Yoshi was fun while still not being essential to win
It was imaginative, great controls and fun. Definition of a great game. What else is there to say?
The end.
Everything! A picture in time.
Still waiting for a real sequel.

It was magical. Coming from Super Mario 3, this game felt glorious with its graphics, colors and music. A masterpiece.
