As part of their yearly report for 2022, Remedy provided plenty of news on its upcoming games, starting with this year's Alan Wake 2.
ScribbleCat said: Media is certainly no stranger to connecting all their properties together. Comic books have been doing this for generations, and TV is also known for special crossover episodes, which confirm the notion that they take place in the same fictional world. Video games, which can be barely called a new medium at this point, also have some interesting overlaps with connecting different games. For example, Valve’s Portal and Half-Life show how subtle hints can give players more theories to chew on. Old classics like DOOM and Wolfenstein also share similarities. But my favorite connection between games is the Remedy Connected Universe. While only a connection between Alan Wake and Control have been confirmed, there is SO much more to explore with Remedy’s crazy take on this old formula. And, according to Sam Lake, this is only the beginning.
The head of the studio behind Alan Wake and Control talks to Game File about Remedy's survival, a key cancellation, and getting game devs to think more about game business (but not too much!)
I would hope after the learnings in Control 1 and refinement in AW2 for current-gen optimization, that they could reduce cost on the tech side for their next project.
Control 1 was also budget constrained and was great so I'm not worried. Remedys design and writing go further than a budget.
Remedy Entertainment has revealed that Max Payne 1 & 2 remake has achieved critical development goals, while Control 2 is in full production.
I have seriously HIGH hopes for these remakes, hope they can live up to my own hype 🦖.
Awesome news. I've wanted to play AW2 for a very long time
Fantastic!
Hope AWII in 2023 and Max Payne 1 Remake in 2024 + MP2 Remake in 2025
I know Max Payne 3 wasn’t your game, but it was great, too.
Please consider it along with any other remaster plans.
Very nice hopefully some quality games to come
