Less than a year ago Remedy made a FPS game funded by Tencent that im sure they're embarrassed about but nobody bought it cause its comically bad and had 0 advertising
I dunno about that one. Maybe there was initial hype when they announced it but after constant delays the writing was on the wall. Allot of gaas titles getting shut down this quarter.
They helped announce it and said it was coming to GP day one. That's not "parading". Tons of games get shown off at E3 and plenty of them end up being garbage. It was a similar situation with Sony and Gearbox announcing Godfall. Both games ended up being shit but that has nothing to do with Sony or MS.
"4) Will I still be able to play the CrossfireX campaigns?
If you have previously purchased either of the single player campaigns, then you will be able to enjoy and complete them until servers close on May 18, 2023 – 00:00 UTC."
You can't even play the campaign anymore after the servers close? And people wonder why we're against online requirements.
The two campaigns are trash anyhow and are pretty pointless. They're short and offer no achievements or skill progression to multiplayer component (despite serving as a prerequisite for such).
Smilegate is better off cutting their losses and focusing resources on Crossfire: Sierra Squad for PSVR2.
Speaking of! Did you play firewall on the PSVR? OMG what a fun game. I will be on the new firewall day one for PSVR2….. if my work schedule says the same….
I hate de-listings without warning. Does anyone know if there's still a way to get the 2nd campaign? It seems like I can still get the 1st campaign if I sign up for Game Pass before the 15th, but the 2nd one wasn't on Game Pass
The flaw with that logic is that a lot of physically owned games will also stop working once the PSN/XBL services of todays console generation shut down.
Two things need to happen for that to occur though:
1. We need a new disk format - or platforms need to allow multi-disk games again as standard 2. Game dev needs to become less rushed. 99% of the time you cert an unstable version and make Sony/MS a promise to deliver a day 0 patch.
Also keep in mind with a disk version, once those services are gone, you'll be playing unpatched versions. All the pre-day 0 issues will exist, e.g. the VRS and performance issues we saw with Dead Space remake on PS5.
SP games can still require internet though, Hogwarts being the most recent example - that game is out in a week, is fully singleplayer but physical editions will need an internet connection to PSN/XBL.
@Nyxus Hogwarts, an SP game that launches next week requires Internet. It’s not the first and won’t be the last.
@Xi Yep we need that - or multi disk support. It wouldn’t be the end of the world to swap disks since it would be during installation only. Installs would be slower though, more data.
"@Nyxus Hogwarts, an SP game that launches next week requires Internet. It’s not the first and won’t be the last."
Nyxus point was that PS4/PS5 games work without internet. Pointing out a single game coming up doesn't change that! Are you obtuse?! Nyxus just roasted your dumb argument and you're here rambling like and idiot to try to divert you got caught with your pants down - won't be the be the first and won't be the last either. In fact now that I think about it your comments about Playstation sales and quarterly were completely idiotic too considering Playstation just smashed the industry record. But yeah keep parroting you're stupid comments without the facts.
Feel like MS timed this to make themselves look bad, announced Redfall is online only, and then announce CrossfireX you can't even play campaign when after the servers are closed.
Not saying that this would have helped, but if they would have brought this to playstation as well it MIGHT (not 100%) might have had a better shot of lasting longer. I wouldn't know since I never cared for the game to start with. But this with cross play and Playstation's mass userbase could have gave them a few more players.
It is with the deepest regret that we are informing you of our decision to end support for Redfall. Since the launch of the game, we have worked tirelessly to bring it to a point where we can all be proud, and throughout it all we have had the honor and pleasure of supporting our players.
Coming to this decision was not easy, however, we can proudly say that our players have been amazingly active, passionate and enthusiastic in working with us to create a game that would be fun and enjoyable by all. We want to thank each and every one of our players for playing Redfall and being a part of this journey with us.
We hope that you will be able to enjoy Redfall until the service ends and we will always be grateful for your support. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any issues by visiting our support page.
A lot of F2P games are shutting down around the same time....If I seriously had to guess it's probably Epic tossing some cash to try to booste the Fortnite Player base again in return...Just so many of these games going offline all at once..seems suspicious
Well... that was fast
I remember MS parading this off at E3 and hyping it up. Just smoke and mirrors like Halo infinite.
Oh no, not the true Xbox exclusive.
This game was so trash
Who could have foreseen this?
