I have the pleasure to experience at home Project Cars 2, Automobilista 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione on Oculus and now Pico 4 on my gaming rig with a 3080 RTX (Upgraded to a Asus RTX 4090). The experience you get out of racing games when you go VR is unparalleled and makes non VR games feel flat and distant. I also own a PS5 with GT7 and a Logiteck Streering will with frame and I am going to buy the PSVR 2 in a few days. I am sure the tech is so advance that will possily copete with my PC in terms of simple driving pleasure.

But its not.. Its a single screen, with a visual border down the middle, splitting the image for each eye from a different perspective... Its not like a flat panel doing 3D, using Interpolation whether synced or via polarisation to add perspectives across the same display space.

Doubts would be normal. That's why these news are amazing. A racing game in vr is the dream to all gamers that like this genre. Graphics already are great, but being in the game!!!! Nothing comes close to this.

I recommend you both boot it up and get a few hours in before PSVR2 arrives for a couple of reasons.

1. When you boot it up first there's an annoying 8 min cutscene that can't be skipped the first time you play.
2. You need to unlock a lot of the modes, so if you wanted to jump into online right away, that's something that takes a little bit to unlock.

I also recommend putting some time into it before PSVR2 so you can start with the good stuff instead of having to wait!

Til now it's been almost a crime how much effort was put into the car interiors of GT7 when we had no real way to truly appreciate them consistently. You can kinda glance around with the DS but it isn't too practical. It's gonna pay off now though. I didn't want to be an early adopter of this thing but being able to play GT7 in VR, while online, and at this level of graphical fidelity is hard to say no to.

Glad Driveclub VR wasn't as bad as GT Sport's VR on PS4. That was a good first taste of how epic GT7 with VR will be.
I'm not able to afford PSVR2 at launch and my neck issues made using PSVR difficult (especially playing AC7), but I'm still considering getting PSVR2.

I've not used any other VR systems.

I just dusted off my PSVR and played it for a couple of hours. While not exactly Silent Hill it has that twin worlds vibe and is pretty creepy. There have also been several surprise/jump moments, all very effective, one which scared the crap out of me.
I grabbed it off PS+ Extra. Thumbs up from me.

This was my impression with GT Sport and PSVR1. I've owned and raced Toyota 86's for 5 years at that point and it was very spot on. I don't expect anything less with GT7 and PSVR2.

I only played GT Sport using PSVR on a base model PS4 and thought it was roundly inferior to Driveclub's implementation (mostly because GTS' image was insanely blurry in VR).

I know this will be significantly better than Driveclub's already jaw dropping VR (which was ironically much worse looking than Driveclub 2D).

Really hope we get the complete campaign in VR this time. Even though I couldn't use PSVR to look around much (my neck is mangled) I thoroughly enjoyed the three missions that were provided.
Bizarrely I was just fine playing WipEout Omega Collection. I figure that's because I mostly stayed still looking around rarely, mostly left and right instead of trying to track targets all over like you can in AC7.
