Hi-Fi RUSH | Official Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer

Hi-Fi RUSH puts you in the beat-up sneakers of Chai, a wannabe rocker wrongfully labeled a “defect” by a sinister tech corporation. Everything in Hi-Fi RUSH automatically syncs to the music, from swinging your trusty guitar to dodging out of the way of an oversized metallic fist.

Players must feel the rhythm to enhance Chai’s actions, pulling off heavy Beat Hits at the end of a combo like a cymbal crash, or syncing up with one of his allies for a devastating tag-team finisher. In Hi-Fi RUSH, every battle is an opportunity to play out your own music video fantasy, seamlessly coordinating all your moves with the soundtrack.

ESRB RATING: Teen with Fantasy Violence and Language

Hi-Fi RUSH is out NOW for Xbox consoles and Windows PC. Download and play for free today on Xbox Game Pass. To learn more about Game Pass, check out Microsoft’s official website.

Looks interesting but seems like a game specifically made for Gamepass

I really hope they have another team working on Evil Within 3 or something

Orchard825d ago

I'd imagine the team that worked on Ghostwire is probably on, or moving onto a new EW. Leaving money on the table if they don't.

RpgSama825d ago

Definitely looks like a smaller "budget" experience.

Obscure_Observer825d ago

"Definitely looks like a smaller "budget" experience."

From my perspective, I call it another great IP for Xbox.

It looks great to me. Gameplay looks fun, the art style is creative and full of colour, the universe looks wacky and fun, the soundtrack is really interesting. What's not to like? I don't understand why smaller projects are now being shunned as GP filler. Some of the most memorable experiences for me are smaller games like Flower, Transistor, etc.

Tacoboto825d ago

Bingo - the platform. Not even playing as a cat in a generic apocalyptic environment could save it from that type of feedback.

darthv72825d ago

this actually looks too good to be on xbox. It seems more natural as a PS game as it is just quirky enough to appeal to that demographic. I hope it does well with xb users though, lord knows the platform needs some unique titles to call their own.

Gunstar75825d ago

Whaaa?? So any game that isn't AAA budget is designed for gamepass? WT actual F?

blackblades825d ago (Edited 825d ago )

Looks like a game I would pay for.

FinalFantasyFanatic825d ago

I'm kinda interested in it because I like both Rhythm and Action games, but it's obviously a budget game, I'd have to try a demo before I could say whether it's a game I would enjoy and play though.

Looking at the Steam page for it... Apparently it's the same people who made the Evil Within? Wow, didn't expect that.

SullysCigar824d ago

If you like rhythm action, try Metal Hellsinger. It's a great game that it looks like this HiFi Rush has riffed off. You kill your enemies to the beat to build the song combo, so it's similar, but it looks a lot nicer with a DOOM-esque aesthetic.

FinalFantasyFanatic824d ago

That might be an okay game to try, I think I've seen it advertised on Steam before, today I was playing Muse Dash all day, it got really addictive.

Sonic1881824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

EW never sold that well to begin with. That franchise is dead now.

Jin_Sakai824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

Been playing for or a bit and I must say this game is great. Having a blast so far!

jznrpg824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

They are starved for AAA games so small game pass filler is great , the best thing ever now. They called PS indie station but love small games now and they will say they are free too

MegaLogic824d ago

Always a "but" with you Sony folks , lmao you didn't even know it existed 5 days ago.

Looks great shadow drop it like that. It’s really awesome of tango to do that give us something right now.

LucasRuinedChildhood825d ago

The game is definitely a pleasant surprise. Nice art style.

Really liked Metal: Hellsinger, so bring on more rhythm-action games like this.

MehmetAlperTR825d ago

F..k the game you made Shinji.. We WANT SURVIVAL HORROR GAME ! And you made this ??!!!! A Huge dissappointment.

Orchard825d ago

If you watch the event/video, it's a separate team and leader etc. - not Shinji.

That plus they just launched Ghostwire + you have no idea what else they're working on...

UncertainCategory824d ago

Speak for yourself, I certainly want much more of this kind of game. Three levels in and it’s just incredible.

massterchef824d ago

People like you Mehmet are why shadow dropping will be the new norm. Some gamers really need a hard look in the mirror. Most games get torn to shreds before they are even released these days.

The3faces825d ago

Looks great definitely playing this tonight. Well done MS!

...they didn't close, they changed owners. As far as i know HFR2 is still in the works.

Lightning77209d ago

Hifi 2 is still in development. The devs themselves said what they wanted to do with the sequel.

jznrpg30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

They closed then got new owners

-Foxtrot209d ago

The Evil Within Anniversary Edition?

Good God. We were robbed.

I would imagine they would have improved the graphics and animations to bring them more in line with the second game. Wishful thinking but it would have been really cool if they redid the voice lines from the first game aswell with the same actors from the second, I felt they had more personality in the sequel. The only person I thought gave it a bit more than the others was Jennifer Carpenter as Kidman but the sequels voice actress did a great job aswell.

Microsoft is going to do f*** all with the IP and we'll never see a second Ruvik and Seb showdown.

I hope Krafton goes back and gets it after Hi-Fi Rush 2 if it was only because they didn't want the initial purchase to get complicated.

Neonridr209d ago

I preferred the first game to the second to be honest.

-Foxtrot209d ago

I wasn't really making a point at what game was overall better, just the voices were so flat in the first one and it would be nice if the animations and the like would be improved upon.

FinalFantasyFanatic208d ago

I really got to get around to playing the first one, I really liked the second game.

Venoxn4g208d ago

It hurts so bad knowing that there might have been new content for Evil Within..love those games

CrimsonWing69208d ago

This is one of those things I’ll never forgive Xbox for.

127maXimus208d ago

What a stupid, short sided move by Microsoft. Comparatively it would have been cheap for them to hang onto their only Japanese studio, with actually good games that people want to play. I struggle to understand how Phil Spencer is still employed. At this point it is Kathleen Kennedy levels of failure.

BlackIceJoe208d ago

Well said about him being Microsoft's version of Kathleen Kennedy.

All he has been doing is to destroy Xbox and it is unbelievable he falls upwards.

darthv72222d ago

Well I really hope they make some $$ AND make a HFR2 in the process.

Sciurus_vulgaris222d ago (Edited 222d ago )

I’m wonder if Microsoft fully sold the Hi-Fi Rush IP. They kept the publishing rights of the original game. I don’t even understand why the IP was sold. MS could have had another of its menagerie of studios do another Hi-Fi game, despite such a thing being unlikely.

mandf221d ago

It was given for free on gamepass. It didn’t sell well. Look at starfield it only sold 2.5 million because of gamepass

Sciurus_vulgaris221d ago

Starfield did $235 million in revenue on Steam alone from Sept-December 2023. So I’m sure it sold considerably more than 2.5 million copies.

https://www.gamingbible.com...

ZwVw221d ago

Yes, it did sell well. GP version has a fraction of the reviews that the Deluxe Edition (more expensive purchase version of original) has. If anything, it shows that more people actually bought the Deluxe version than played the GP version, on Xbox at least.

LucasRuinedChildhood222d ago

Hi-Fi Rush on the Switch 2 at launch would probably sell a good amount.
