Take a look at 93 PSVR 2 games that are in development right now

From Eurogamer: "Happy Year of the PSVR 2 everyone! With fewer than 45 days to wait until the launch of Sony's next generation headset, it won't be long before virtual reality enthusiasts the world over get to insert their eager faces into some brand new adventures.

But which adventures exactly will be on offer for those among us who are willing to drop almost £600 on a new piece of hardware? At CES 2023, Sony's Jim Ryan confirmed that there will be over 30 titles available for the headset on launch, including some new, big name announcements like Beat Saber and the PSVR 2 exclusive, Gran Turismo 7."

Over 30 games ready for launch and well over 100 confirmed games in development.

Seems like a really solid start - I'm so excited to dive in. Just 6 weeks to go!

Neonridr837d ago

hard to believe it's that close now.

crazyCoconuts837d ago

I know. It's funny cause the rest of my family couldn't figure out what to ask for for Xmas and birthdays and with the incredible steam deck last year followed by this in a month I've been treating myself to these toys like I'm the biggest kid in the family.

Jimmy289,

Low sales relative to the install base size is not a valid indication of success. Following that logic, the number of XGP capable devices and the number of XGP subscribers would suggest the service is a failure.

The price is high for an entertainment device, but very fair when you consider what you're getting. It is likely to sell on value alone. I'd say it will do at least as well as PSVR1. It is also a proprietary device for PlayStation and if the games are there, the interest will be too.

Clearly, Sony creating a new VR device indicates they are at least satisfied with its predecessor and willing to make a successor.

I think it will perform better than you think. If it's profitable, I suspect that is enough for Sony.

@jimmy289
Because you are the one who is living in your own fantasy. For one thing in your fantasy the price is 600 instead of 549.99.

Next, you act like PSVR was not a success. It sold bonkers for a VR headset. It single handedly saved VR if I remember correctly. Not to memtion that it was a blast. Who cares how many it sold if it offered some of the best of the generation in terms of games?

You should stop living in this fantasy world where VR is doomed. One day MS will get its act together and they will have a headset too.

Have you heard where the Horizon mountain game lines up with the overall story? I haven't played forbidden West yet (next on my backlog) and I want to avoid any spoilers in the game

Phoenix76837d ago

From what I've read, it's a spinoff/standalone title in the series. You WONT be playing as one of the main characters from the series. Only encountering them. So make from that what you will, mate.

babadivad837d ago

I haven't played it either. Is it VR compatible?

@ crazy “ 😲 that's a lot of emojis”

“Bu But the vast majority of gamers don’t want VR”
Said a troll in a previous article while 😭 in the inside and 😡 inside that his masters won’t support VR. 🤣
I’ll be playing horizon then both of the moss game and enjoy them while 🤣 watching his comments on every VR article

Imalwaysright837d ago

They don't and sales numbers prove it. I don't know what's going on in western societies but the complete denial of facts and objective truth is becoming concerning.

S2Killinit836d ago

@imalwaysright
The “vast majority” of people dont want gaming period. Doesn’t mean I dont have a blast doing it. So suck on that.

S2Killinit

What possessed you to make such a stupid and irrelevant comment that doesn't have anything to do with what I wrote? Please, walk me through your thought process as it will no doubt be fascinating!

Woah thats a lot of games. Only 45 days left.

peppeaccardo837d ago

As a current owner of PSVR1, Oculus and Pico 4 (used solely for Steam VR) my interest is toward the exclusive titles which will use the PSVR2 to its fullest ... not ports whatshoever. If future exclusive titels will keep the Horizon call of the mountain standards in terms of graphics and hopefully will had a AAA gameplay to it, the PSVR2 could become something special. Only concern is that AAA VR development is fueled by adoption numbers .... so will see.

Neonridr837d ago

at least there won't be barriers from PC VR titles appearing on the PSVR2 like there were last time due to hardware limitations.

SullysCigar837d ago

^ This. PSVR missed out on Subnautica in VR, for one example, because they couldn't make it work to an acceptable level on the OG PS4. No such issues now.

Profchaos836d ago

Hopefully there won't be barriers to also using the VR headset on the PC given its a USB C device with inside out tracking.

If Sony make the drivers public it's possible we could get a device that works across both PC and PS

Neonridr836d ago

@Profchaos - absolutely, since we are starting to see some Sony 1st party titles showing up on PC, why not bring some VR titles across and make the hardware work on both sides. Would be a huge win and would really drive up their sales.

chobit_A5HL3Y837d ago

tbh, i liked that shark deep dive thing more than any game i played on psvr on ps4. i hope they have more guided experiences like that this time around. i was always hoping they'd do more of that kind of stuff. even vr documentaries would be a nice addition.

SullysCigar837d ago

Horizon Call of the Mountain has a mode where you just sit back and take in a boat journey, which is perfect for putting family in who aren't gamers, just like the shark cage game was.

Other than that, of the launch games, I'd go for Kayak VR: Mirage for a chill out game anyone can work out. It's absolutely stunning. But then I had such a good time putting people in Rush of Blood, I reckon Switchback will be my go to, so I can watch them scream again lol
