I would agree considering I never do coop in souls games to begin with hell really dont do coop in general. Overall I think they should keep it and do better with the coop for others that enjoys it in souls games.
I'd be surprised if the multiplayer aspect takes up many resources in these games. It's one of the most unique aspects of Souls games, it was really innovative when it was introduced in Demon's Souls. I don't think there's any reason to cut it out.
Co-op and multiple means different things in my book. Co-op in these games shouldnt take up much like CoD multiplayer mode. Resources in general yeah probably why last of us and GoT multiplayer was seperate as it should be seperated.
Idc either way but it was mainly in reference to the article. It seemed the writer wanted a more beefed up multi-player where I'd rather them use those resources on the single player part of the game.
Correct. But it's only for the PC. People forget that these games are available for consoles and PC.PC players get all the cool mods and fixes, but console players, not so much.
Not sure of your point here, console game modding is hard/impossible depending on the game. Not my or the mod makers fault it cannot work on console, nothing to do with forgetting about consoles. As there are only PC mods for ER that I'm aware of, the assumption is the OP is talking about PC.
they're a talented dev. if they put in the effort, they could pull it off and it could be a great experience. no one expected ghost of tsushima to have co-op and it turned out to be a surprise hit. there were some issues, but as something that the game was never really supposed to do, it turned out great. not doubt from software could pull off something similar.
I feel like their MP is deliberately and intentionally designed the way it is. Is it convoluted? Yea. Then again, it feels like such a FromSoft way to be. Honestly, Elden Ring wasn’t difficult to do MP, they made an MP menu and you simply click an item to ask for co-op or invade. Put in a code for a specific friend to join.
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. You can make it ABC, drop your sign, your friend makes the code ABC, your sign shows up in their world and you’re set. Don’t have to do a code again for them.
They don't have to do shit. They've become one of the hottest dev studios in the last decade despite you not having a fun co-op experience.
"But on the other end of the spectrum, progressing through the games, completing objectives, killing bosses, and things of that nature, I’m not too fond of."
Sounds like you just don't like this genre of game. No shame, but this reeks of "why doesn't DS have an easy mode?!"
You summon ghosts to help you. That's it. Soulsborne games aren't supposed to have lobbies. Low player count won't make a lobby system any more viable.
You must have missed the opening of this article, then. You're also completely wrong. I've beaten every Dark Souls title, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring, multiple times. I've beat Elden Ring, including Melania, before guides were a thing, as I reviewed the game and had access before most people did. I even wrote a few guides for the game. Beaten those games on stream, etc, etc.
I'm not fond of the way co-op works with progressing through the games, completing objectives, killing bosses, and things of that nature, I’m not too fond of
People will complain games are all the same cookie cutter and boring and when a developer decides to do something new or innovate they will complain. It fits the lore of game and i never had an issue with the co op or had to wait hours like this guy he probably put the sign down far away from the normal spots everyone normally looks that's why he didn't find anyone.
Maybe they could just cut the multi-player aspect theybdonhave and leave it single player. Yay more resources for the actual good part of the game.
isn't there a mod out there that does coop properly?
