Star Wars: Force Commander is a real-time strategy game set in the Star Wars universe that was released in 2000 by LucasArts.
Shaun Kellett: "Not all that long ago, on the internet right in front of you, there is a whole resource of “Best of” Star Wars games for you read and reminisce over to your heart’s content. I’m sure everyone is already well aware of Dark Forces, of Shadows of the Empire, and of Rogue Squadron; So much so that there’s little I can add to that debate. Do you really need me to tell you these were, now non-canon, masterpieces? I Doubt it. But with it turning May 4th, and with the news of Star Wars Movies making their way across the gala- I mean, internet, I thought maybe I could tell you about three other Star Wars games. Three games which are probably not that well known. Three games that consumed more hours of my childhood than they probably should have. Three games which were, in retrospect, actually pretty dreadful."
Force Commander is LucasArts second attempt at creating a Star Wars based strategy game for the PC, their first attempt was Rebellion.
This would have been a great game except for the actual user interface. What a mess! Unless you are a 5th dimensional being with 20 eyes, you got lost while trying to manage the games meandering views. Locking onto troops in order to give them orders is a tortuous exercise.
GameFront, "With Star Wars: The Old Republic looming over us like a rancor with its mouth open, my editors have seen fit to ask me, Game Front’s resident recovering Star Wars addict, to make a list of five terrible Star Wars games. And so it is with great regret that I do something that I never like to do: dig into my past and turn some good memories into bad ones by pointing out how things I once enjoyed are actually horrible. YOU’RE WELCOME."
Super Star Wars was great, I also really liked Phantom Menace on the original PlayStation, I played that game nonstop for hours!
Omg the video for The Phantom Menace was amazing. I totally did that lol. I just went around Tatooine killing everyone and everything. Fun times lol
I've only played 2 great Starwars games in my life - KOTOR and one on SNES that I can't remember the name of..
Always wanted to try the GC one but never could.
