Honestly, the headroom that the card offers makes it very astonishing. We are looking to see what it can do with gamers that are optimized for it. So far, we think this could have a lot more power waiting to be explored, especially under 4K, since most of our bottlenecks were with the game engines not the hardware.

You are paying nearly double the price for the same performance uplift percentage.

The MSRP of the 3080 was 700, this card is 1200. You cannot justify that price increase.

The GPU market has become a total nightmare.

MSRPs are crazy high. If the MSRPs weren't bad enough retailers are then further hiking asking prices. If inflated retailer prices weren't bad enough you have eBay scalpers buying up all the stock to then inflate prices even further and even with all that going on cards are still selling out.

I would love to upgrade to a 4000 series card but not in this insane toxic market. I'll sit and wait for sanity to return even if I have to wait for a second hand 4080/4090 after the launch of of 5080/5090.

Good plan, although I'm starting to look towards AMD more for my next upgrade, which won't be soon as have a 3080.

Yep, keeping a very close eye on how AMDs cards stack up. May switch from NVIDIA for the first time ever if they are solid performers. No melting cables or PSU upgrade is nice too.

my 3080 is doing just fine, I won't be upgrading until at least the 5 series but probably 6 series if we are being realistic.

Well I will wait and see how AMD 7900XT/XTX are compared to the nVidia cards and if they are better value apart of Ray Tracing a team red machine might be worth it for the next generation or two.
