This is completely bogus on how long "Home" has been in development, and how many bugs that it has. Sony has yet again dropped the ball with this.

This virtual world that Sony has created is completely lifeless, boring and frankly, quite pathetic.

I really think that Sony expected the stupid consumers to pony up $400 with what ever crap they dished out with the PS3, and to shut up and be happy. But as it looks, the consumers aren't that stupid as with the poor sales of the PS3.

Home is looking like a real bust, just another nail in my PS3's coffin!!!

It's kind of stupid to put nails in the PS3's coffin when the PS3 isn't in it. If any system is in the coffin, it's the 360 and as we all know the 360 gets put in the coffin A LOT. It must suck for people who only have a 360 as it seems like they will end up paying more for repairs than games.

Don't really understand what your rant is about DNAgent anyways, aren't we talking about how buggy Home has been.

And while we are talking about how poorly "Home" has been designed, it also goes to show how poorly Sony's vision and imagination is also, as it also suffers from being lifeless and boring. Those are 2 things you don't want in a product either. Mix those 2 things in with poorly programed and you have "Home". It is no wonder why Sony has other companies design exclusive titles for the Playstation system, imagination is definitely not their strong suit.

Anybody happy with what "Home" obviously doesn't own a PS3. Sony promised more, and we got a lot less. I couldn't care less if it is free, as when I spend $520 on my PS3 with the promise of "Home" being something else, and getting this junk, I feel ripped off.

The point of it being a beta is so people can locate problems like these & Sony can be made aware of it. You guys can start whining about these types of articles when it is out of beta. But while it is in beta it is in my opinion fair game

I've been in quite a few. This is the only one I have seen that has a working business model with pay for content in it. How can you charge for content in a not yet finished product? Hasn't Sony released a statement about how much money pay for content in Home has generated already? The only beta part of Home is in the name. Sony is using the word beta as an excuse for a poorly populated application. They can hide behind any deficiencies by saying it's a beta while they profit from the customer pay content it provides. Not happy with Home? That's ok, it's a beta.

I am constantly in the MS Windows beta, you know, the boxes you buy at retail that are so full of bugs that a daily patch wouldn't be enough to fix them all. The OS that features a browser that had critical dangerous bugs for 8 years cause the developer just fails at writing clean code. Windows is a widespread betatest where you have to pay premium cash for every release candidate. Next beta version is Windows7, guaranteed to cost a couple of hundred $ each, and guaranteed to have millions of critical bugs.

The point is, you don't HAVE to buy a single thing in Home to use it. The base app is free, so is a basic selection of stuff. And more stuff can be won by playing games like the arcades and games like the capcom classics (available in HK atm). The service is clearly in beta, as they patch it regularly and fix stuff that is reported broken.

But even though it is still work in progress the most important part of the social network it is supposed to be already works perfectly. You can join in any time and meet NEW people that are guaranteed to have the same console you have, and chat with them or play some casual games. Home is NOT a game, it was never intended as a game, it would fail miserably as a game. Home was intended to, and succeeded in being a social network to meet people. The minigames are just tools you may use to get to know your new found friends better.

An analogy to better represent what games and social networks are would be movies compared to parties. A movie is clearly something to entertain you, you get action, you get romance, but all pre-build and poured into fixed guidelines. A party is all about meeting people. therefor a social network is not a game, and never wanted to be one to begin with. Rating a social network as a game is an instant fail for the person doing so.

No one would claim that going to watch a movie is the same as visiting a party. But as long as one can hate on Sony its ok to state that booth are the same, right? Even though it is just so one can follow up with claiming that the party is a bad movie, cause all the people did was talk and dance at the party, no action scenes, no car chases, no shooting... pathetic

I was in the Longhorn (Vista) beta and will most likely participate in the Windows 7 beta. These beta's are 100% no charge. Once the OS is released to public, you have to pay for it. Game beta's run on the same principal. Most actual game betas are done in house at the dev studio and use employees to test the software.

Home has been in development for years and has closed betas. They have done their in house beta and have done a limited release beta. The limited release beta falls under the category of most public betas. They are more a marketing tool to raise awareness with the public. Kinbd of like an external hype machine. It generates buzz and awareness in the community at very little expense. Home has been released to the public. It has a working business model generating revenue. This is not a beta anymore then the updatable PSN.

i used home 2 times and have not used it again i find it not good and boring. how long can i guy walk around and talk for. i think Sony should take there money away from home and put it to some good looking games other then something that will fail and fail over and over again no matter what like its doing all the time.
at first i saw a lot of people on home and then less and less got on it and started playing game and no one person is on home on my friends list. i have heard hardcore ps3 fans say home sucks how sad is that.
and i don't want to hear that its a beta its not a game if you think its a game then that is sad because who wants to take time to go in to a game then meet up and then take more long a** time to get in to the real game you going to play no matter what, so why the hell just all of yous go to the dam game you going to play no matter what.

I seriously don't understand whats the point for b!tching about a minor glitch such as this. Infact, I think its pretty cool to have an additional fun factor going on with glitches e.g. sofa glitch(Hell that was actually pretty interesting). Glitches can be fun as long as it doesn't break you from playing!

Heck, this is such a minor to nothing compare to the glitches that gears1.5 have that actually broke the game experience.

What is it about beta testing that people don't get? Oh, and for the idiot Failbox360 fanboys out there. The reason it's been in beta for so long is because UNLIKE Micro$oft. I'll explain a beta test for the mentally impaired. The purpose of a beta is to, (and I'll explain as easily as I can so even the simplest of minds can understand it) FIND BUGS!! What a novel concept! Using a beta test to actually FIND BUGS! WOW!

I've been beta testing games for over twelve years, and I can tell you like many others have in these comments. This is hardly a major bug. Not even anywhere near the vicinity of a major bug. For something to be considered a major bug it would at least have to crash the system, or allow you to buy things for free, or hack or glitch your way into other users private areas, things like that.
