Resident Evil Village First-Person vs Third-Person: Which Is Scarier?

Resident Evil Village recently received a third-person mode, and while it provides some gameplay advantages, it also makes things less scary.

I agree, first person perspective is always more scary and intense even though I prefer 3rd person view.

It's a real shame it doesn't come with VR mode option like re7 did. That's the best immersion you can have.

First person for me always gives that extra level of immersion. Instead of watching a character walk into a scary situation, you are the person.

you could argue you are paying for Mercenaries and the extra story DLC. I believe they just added this in because people complained enough after RE7 and RE8.

It's not even up for debate. First person is always scarier. Want proof? Play the exorcist vr. 3rd person is just fun eye candy.

Oh man I wish, but given how animations change from 1st person gameplay to 3rd person photo mode I don't think it's possible - at least, not without a serious amount of work.

Even so I enjoy driving bikes in 3rd person to get a better look at V. We can dream, right?
