Sometimes you just have to admit that you messed up.

Yet another article from ''thegamer'' (...) that i will not give a click.

RetroCaptainSteve542d ago

If they focused on actual games as much as they did game drama, we'd be getting somewhere.

Bro they did a list of the best looter shooters. There was like fucking 30+ games on the list, most of which aren't even looter shooters. It's the typical "anything for content" mentality.

Hate sites without comments sections anywho:

This doesn’t mean PlatinumGames was completely on the level. Critics were right to point out that voice actors for games do destroy their throats for franchises that make hundreds of millions of dollars.

Isn't that the pitfalls of that career choice, how is Platinum not on the level here? "I was wrong but will still try and throw shade at Platinum", yeah good one.

jambola542d ago

Just because a career choice has problems doesn't make it ok
Platinum games are not on the level for horribly disgusting treatment of voice actors and not paying them properly

lonewolf10542d ago

They paid them the union rates, if they are wrong then the union need to sort. The career choice problem is loss of voice, not the payments offered, singers etc. insure their voices etc. in case they cannot perform, maybe VA's should do same?

ManMarmalade542d ago

The original actress was being a spoiled brat. End of story.

--Onilink--542d ago (Edited 542d ago )

She was offered nearly triple the union rate for a union job. How are they not paying them properly?

It is literally the job of a union to negotiate this kind of stuff if they feel the rates are not adequate. It is NOT Platinum’s job (and they it anyway)

Andrew336542d ago

Lol @ "destroy their throats".

camel_toad542d ago

There MUST already be a porn out there named that.

lonewolf10542d ago

@camel_toad

I laughed at that and your username, I'm such a child.

gleepot542d ago

any site without comments is a boon, as they are always a cesspool

lonewolf10542d ago

And yet without them you wouldn't be able to voice your opinion, like you just have.

LoveSpuds542d ago

The union setting a base line for the bottom rung or bare minimum does not absolve any company from wrong doing in respect of fair pay.

I think there is plenty of shit to go around for all of the parties concerned to be honest

If thegamer is going to make an article on everything they were wrong about we'd be here for years

neutralgamer1992542d ago

So first you got clicks for supporting the so called victim and now you want to get the clicks from the other side

neutralgamer1992541d ago

i rather they do their research instead of taking one side before launch and support the other side a week later

Mr_Writer85541d ago

But no one had that information at the time did they? How do you suppose a (relatively small ) gaming news and opinion site get information regarding someone's contract offer?

You assume they had connections? They formed an opinion on what information they did have. Which is a natural thing for anyone to do.

They have now changed that opinion and admitted that their previous opinion is wrong, due to new information.

BrainSyphoned542d ago

The only reason they are walking it back
"When she got called out for this, she pivoted and asked people to donate to charities, including ones that promote taking away reproductive rights."
Trump supporter bad, prove I good robot must now attack woman who believe in life.

Loktai542d ago (Edited 542d ago )

Thats basically what happens every time. Its STAND WITH WOMEN and BELIEVE WOMEN and WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE until they realize the person they were so adamant needed their support turns out NOT to be a drone who agrees with them on every issue.

Just wait, if people actually start realizing what actually happened in Ukraine over the last decade.... oohhhh boy.

IanTH542d ago (Edited 542d ago )

It's crazy, isn't it? That the world is full of grey, and not just black and white? Many things can be true at once.

In this case, you can stand with AND believe the voice actress, and believe that she was wronged. But you can also not agree with the person or their views on separate matters. If she's anti-abortion, that's her right, of course. It is now a completely separate matter from the voice acting matter, and one she opted to bring into the conversation.

One could still think she got a bum offer and was shafted, & wish she got a fairer offer, but not support her views. So if one decides they don't wish to support her at that point, that's not some hypocritical backtracking of support, but rather a weighing of the matters at hand, and which one they find more important.

Aside from that, it's also always going to be hard to make the judgement call when you hear only the initial information, especially online. You may have to fill in the blanks when the other party is either unwilling or unable to fill those blanks in. You can make a sensible stance that, with the full picture, may change. Being willing to change your stance, if needed, is far healthier. It's also better to not have a firey, full-throated stance on something when it is clearly too early for there to be enough information to make a clear judgement, but that's another issue entirely.
-------------------------
Side note: I also think that when people with differing views call each other things like "robots" or "drones", it just furthers the issue. Increases the divide. It plays into how humans think and process data (we "chunk" data). Makes it very easy to compartmentalize those you don't agree with as all one thing, further remove the grey, and make them easy to mentally dismiss; to label them as inherently wrong or evil, full stop.

Bayonetta 3's Director Was Worried Hideki Kamiya Would Interfere

PlatinumGames has released the first of a four-part documentary examining the development of Bayonetta 3. It's jam-packed with fascinating anecdotes from the team, including a rather surprising revelation from the game's director, Yusuke Miyata.

Miyata confirmed that Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Bayonetta franchise, approached him directly to offer up the role of the sequel's director. However, instead of jumping at the opportunity, Miyata was initially hesitant and was worried that Kamiya himself would interfere in the project too much.
