Never mind the frame rate issues? What? That is a perfectly legitimate thing to be mindful of... Not much of an excuse these days having issues like that. Unless you're a small studio or an indie developer.

Lexreborn2938d ago

Except they give an example of how ALL Batman games have been 30 fps with performance drops which is a factual statement. And all of those Batman games got damn near 10s all the time, so why is this an issue now? Especially when it’s overlooked in games like BoTW, Bayonetta, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon S&S, montster hunter rise etc. the standards for a games performance shouldn’t be overlooked just because you like a franchise. I think an 8 perfectly reflects this games score. I

It’s a great game, not perfect (which a lot of games aren’t) but it’s easily a game you can see yourself playing multiple times with different friends.

Coming from someone who has the game, and is enjoying the game. With it being current gen only, they could have giving it a higher frame rate.

I’m aware of they higher frame rate for next gen. I have tested out on steam deck and my 3080. I was able to get 60 everything low steam deck 800p but still saw drops.

I’m sure ps5 and series X can handle 60 plus especially at 1440p. But I understand they are trying to make sure the experience is sound across the board because of multiplayer.

On PC the environment is host dependent, I’m not so sure series S would stack up because of that.

You know what's funny, I saw IGN's review of Bayonetta 3 and they talk about frame drops... yet that pulls a 9/10.

I just beat Gotham Knights and quite frankly the frame rate wasn't game breaking or even detrimental to the experience.

I legitimately went into this game having read extensively all the reviews and I can't fathom the low scores. I think most who say, "it's a sh*t game," are only going by what the reviews say without having played it, but man... I've been struggling to see how this game warrants any of the low scores. I mean, yea, it has some poor optimization, but it has a lot of great qualities that are pretty familiar if you're a fan of the Arkham games.

It's pretty nuts. The only time I remember feeling this way towards a game and its reception was when Resident Evil 6 came out and got 3/10's and 4/10's... I honestly could not see anything in that game that warranted those low of scores.

It’s why I just can’t take gaming media seriously, I need it because there’s no other way to get info on y favorite hobby. But it sucks because they are awful and are huge panderers.

The games that get clout and recognition aren’t even typically that good. Personally, I’ve never found Bayonetta a good franchise. The first one had the biggest controversies from frame rate to loading to graphical differences.

And the story was absolutely trash with no coherent focus. Yet got 10/10s across the board. That game was a labor to play not to mention in order to get better equipment you HAD to beat the game on normal to unlock higher difficulties to get more weapon variety.

I hated everything about it, and now we are 3 in but it truly feels like the only reason why we’re here is because of Nintendo fans drilling over it. Hell if you love it power to you. But that game is so bad to me, and 2 was shaping up to be more of the same so I just chalked it to not being the franchise for me.

Now we are at 3 and I’m seeing the same excuses made for this franchise. With hardware limitations, performance issues and dated gameplay design and mechanics people still give it a 10/10?

That’s a bubble I’m just not apart of and staying in my lanes. Yet, Gotham knights was being crapped on for the smallest bit picking I’ve seen and people have drunk the koolaid on it.

I just look for the previews of things that interest me at this point

On top of that, it's highly playable. Same can't be said for when Arkham Knight debuted on PC. YEEEESH.

Lol, oh boy. I just bought the Dragon Quest Builders 2 Season Pass DLC last week, despite not owning the game on Playstation. I know it's a risk we are accepting, but it's just funny that the announcement of removal comes 1 week after buying. Oh well. Looks like I'll be buying the game. Again. I owned it on Switch, but my kids wanted to play multiplayer across the PS4 and PS5.

TheNamelessOne247d ago

Gotham Knights was very bland. Losing the Dragon Quest games though is a different story.

I downloaded Gotham knights months ago but never played it. I guess I'll get it for £3.99 on PC and free memory up on PS5

Luc20246d ago

Correction. Cd keys have it for £1.99

LBP3 leaving give me hopes that a remastered trilogy is coming.

Gotham Knights Would've Succeeded Without The Arkham Games

Ahmed from eXputer: "Gotham Knights is considered a critical failure by Batman fans, but I think it's pretty good without comparing it with the Arkham games."

Gaming4Life1981371d ago

When it came to gamepass I thought it couldn't be as bad as people said it was. I was wrong cause it's terrible and feels very generic. Maybe it needed more development time and no live service crap.

CrimsonWing69370d ago

What was the live service crap?

neutralgamer1992370d ago

It’s an average game and no matter how we spin it it would have still been an average game. Publishers chasing live service most fault but if it happens with natural growth it could happen. Look at helldivers 2 and than look at suicide squad. You have Harry Potter game generating 1 billion but WB still want to chase live service and they want future games from their studios to focus on GAAS
