Age of Empires was one of my favorite games growing up. Will definitely be playing this game on Xbox. Hopefully the new one makes it over as well!

If this one is coming out on consoles (Xbox consoles that is), i see no reason why the newest one would not come aswell.

These kind of games always better with keyboard and mouse, kind of like theme park style management games, first person shooters too. Wonder if it will have support for kb&mouse on Xbox.

I find first person shooters better with controllers unless it's a badly ported twitch shooter. Pulling the trigger and getting that haptic feedback just feels right.

The way some of you make this sound as if it isnt playable with a controller. They play perfectly fine with a controller to me. Sim city 2000 to the newest theme park game out. Cant remember the name but its on ps and xbox lol

They have announced it will include option for KB&M as well controller options. You will also be able to play with PC or console or both based on your choice.

As someone who has already put several thousands of hours into this game and can attest to it's steep learning curve, using a controller on top of that isn't going to make it any easier. You might be able to scrape by in Single Player Skirmishes and the Campaigns, but if you want to make any meaningful improvements to your ability to play, you'll need a mouse, keyboard, and an easy to memorize hotkey profile for all of the units, buildings, formations, game commands, control groups and various other functions that you'll need to play the game well.

Using a controller to play in multiplayer against those using a mouse and keyboard already puts you at a significant disadvantage. Since AoE2 DE already has a mixed community of MS Windows Players and Steam players, I have no doubt they will include console players in there too.

I’d rather stick to single player anyhow. Don’t want to play sweaty PC players.

DMgHalt215d ago

Understandable. The game also comes with Co-op. It's in it's beta phase right now, but eventually I think they are going to have the entire campaign available to play cooperatively.

Jin_Sakai215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

Co-op would be great. Me and my girlfriend usually play together. Been playing grounded lately and it’s a great with co-op.

KillBill215d ago

KB&M on Xbox is an option they have already announced for this. As well they have pointed out you can choose to play against PC or just console players if you choose.

Remember playing this on PS2, was one of my fave games of all time.
