No doubt the game still managed to wow with the new gameplay trailer.

Having every console this gen is great. This game was a day one buy for my PS5 when it was first shown. With this gamespass news it will have saved me 60-$70. It sucks that gamespass does not have a yearly sub as that would save you money as a bundle. On the flip side, I just have it cancelled until it’s something I want to play like Forza, Halo until I realized it’s far from what I want in Halo, and Flight sim. Once they are beaten/lose their luster I just cancel. I’ve had my series X from launch and probably paid for 4 months of sub. Bought zero games. Its kinda ridiculous.

I do the same. Except i choose the refund...the option is there and the reason is i have no more games to play.

I did buy some FPS boost X 360 games though. They usually go for under 10 dollars on sale.

Sheesh… I never knew refund was an option. TBH I’m that guy that doesn’t refund anything unless I have absolutely no use for it so I wouldn’t do that anyway. I just don’t get enough value out of gamespass to keep it every month. They better come up with some bundles, that way I’d be in for the whole sub. Otherwise one month at a time is all they get when I see value in the chosen month.

It's the same way I do it, I only ever subscribe for about 4 months of the year, same with Netflix, Amazon, Disney etc.
I binge play it watch them all in a month then cancel and then re subscribe 3 months later once more content is on there

That's not what he's saying you pleb. He's not paying for it at all. He refunds it after a couple of days when he finished the game he wants to play, E.G returning a game when you've completed it and getting a full refund like a loser.

When your GP expires, use the Xbox Live conversion trick. You can buy up to 3 years of live for $120 or less. Then you have to purchase just 1 month of GP and it converts all 3 years of your Live to UGP.

Yup that initial deal to turn your xbox live gold remaining (up to 36 months) into gamepass ultimate for 1 dollar, ridiculous.

Because after i beat the game i subscribed for one month to play in a week or weekend and there is no other games i want to play on gamepass i cancel it. And it gives me an option for staying subscribed till the end of the month or refund. Why would i not choose refund if it's an option if there is no other game i want to play?

I'm pretty much doing the same thing as the 1 dollar deal every one was high fiving each other for doing.

@AmUnRa - the devs made the choice to get paid by microsoft for their game to go on their service, rather than do things the old way of selling individual units. Nobody forced them to do this. Are you saying you know better than the devs what is best for them? Devs choose to be on gamepass or not.

interesting... Ive never canceled so i had not known there was that option. And I didnt do the $1 deal but i have earned gamepass months from bing searching as i search stuff every day and earn points i can redeem towards gamepass.

I just wonder if they catch on to the sub / refund / sub / refund? They can prob see all that but right now havent decided if they want to impose any restrictions yet. Im sure they are just happy people are using it.

It's not common. I just canceled crunchyroll after watching spy x family and there was no refund option.

I'll see if it works when i beat plague tale 2 as that's the next gamepass game i want to play. I'm fine paying the basic gamepass monthly fee (10) to beat a game if it doesn't work then.

There's an argument to be made that devs can suffer by having their games on Game Pass (not saying it's a fact, just that there's an argument for it), but then you have people doing this? Lol.

This won't hurt 3rd party devs on gamepass. They get paid upfront and if they get bonuses it has to be based on downloads or time played. So i am adding to their bonuses. :)

Are you saying that if you see a mislabeled copy of Elden Ring for 10 dollars, that scans at 10 dollars at Walmart...you're going to get the cashier to charge you 60 to support the devs? No way you don't take that deal.

MS paid 600k to an indie dev to get their game on gamepass. That's on indie dev, imagine the big budget titles. So they can't be suffering too much it seems.

Just tried this w/ Xbox support and it sounds like this is misinformation (in most countries at least).

They will refund if you accidently renew (e.g. you had a subscription and forgot to cancel) and you contact them within a short period of time after the automatic renewal.

They will not refund if you literally just subscribed fresh, or the renewal was days/weeks ago, so the above scenario doesn't actually work.

Note, this is for the US. According to their customer support, customers in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Canada, Israel, Korea and Turkey can get 'prorated refunds'.

I got a month of Ultimate on July 11th(charged 19.20 CAN on my credit card), beat the new turtles game, did a quick playthrough of yakuza kiwami 2 and canceled and got the refund on july 26(-19.20CAN on my credit card).

It could be that i cancelled it from my Microsoft.com account and it gives you the option there?. Just checked there and it says it refunded me the 19.20 Canadian.

Ah you’re in Canada - Canada is one of the few countries where they said they allow subscription refunds.

Sucks that you can't do that in the US, would have been very pro gamer of them to do so. Also why not expand 'prorated refunds' worldwide. Doesn't make sense to have it in some countries and not others, unless laws are forcing them to have that option and therefore would otherwise not have that pro gamer refund option if not forced to do so.

I will most def play this day one but not on gamepass Id rather own a copy but it is smart for the publisher to put it on gamepass being that this is a new IP from a niche studio. Get the game into more peoples hands. Thats smart.
