The MLB demanded that Sony make MLB the Show multi-platform. Sony either had to agree to MLB the Show going multi-platform or loose the license. However, I think Sony owns the Death Stranding IP, as they published and funded the title. Plus, Death Stranding uses Decima a Sony-owned engine.

Did you know EA and 2K didn't want to sign a deal with MLB and only Sony did? MLB approached Sony and offered to sign a new all exclusive simulation contract with less fees if they could make the game be available on other platforms

Sony gets 100% of the profit from the game being sold elsewhere and they don't have to fund the publishing. MLB took 17.5% less in this contract than they were getting before and Sony makes more in profit

Y'all keep spouting BS. Sony was with MLB under what's known as a 1ST party contract meaning even if MLB signed a exclusive contract with 2K Sony would still be able to make MLB the show as long as game is exclusive

Just look back 8-10 years 2K had the exclusive 3rd party rights and Sony still made MLB the show

But don't let facts get in the way of agenda based opinions

Gamepass is free ? Sure it’s free with a free trial. Outside of trials, Gamepass is a paid subscription service. Plus, MLB the Show regardless of Gamepass is still sold on Xbox consoles.

I’m basing my statement on prices dropping on games like Spider-Man, GoT, LoU, and DS. If the games still sold well (ie continued to sell to every new console owner), they’d hold their value (like Halo and BotW, which held/still hold the titles of “best game on this console/one game everyone gets” for entire gens).

I can't exactly get data on Sony fans opinions but whenever you see another game coming to PC you always gt comments say "I wish Sony went back to the way they were when exclusives meant something"

You say 3-5 years those are old numbers the gap has closed exponentially. TLOU had the PC release announced the same day I am sure in a year or two every first party Playstation game will launch day 1 on PC.

That is hardly indicative of every other exclusives’ timelines for PC porting. And fanboys that can’t tolerate a 3-5 year old game being allowed to spread its wings to PC to suppprt the devs…. They can grow up; Sony recovered their investment, and the devs continue to get the best support in the industry, and those are the only 2 things that matter (because that’s how you keep funding consistent enough to prevent game droughts, which is the ultimate goal for me as a consumer).

I don't know about that one. I've seen a lot of salt spread ever since Sony started putting their games on PC.
Now that they made an official Steam store page, started putting more and more games on PC, acquired a dev who specifically deals with PC ports, started shortening their timed windows ... it only got worse.

I don't know how PC and gamepass works because I don't really care but my understanding is that it's already available on PC and is allegedly going to be on PC gamepass not Xbox gamepass, does that make sense?

That's my understanding. The game is definitely on Steam right now (published by 505 games, not Sony however). 505 games are taking that version and putting it on PC gamepass.

I don't think this is coming to Xbox consoles, the game uses Guerilla Games engine and I doubt that even works on an Xbox.

That's just my understanding though, I could of course be completely wrong :D
