Frogun is a heartfelt addition to the wider Platformer genre, bringing some fun new ideas and charm to the table. It's far from a perfect game though, and its flaws hold it back from being an amazing experience.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "Despite these gameplay issues, I liked Frogun. Sure, its nostalgic aesthetic was a cheap shot for someone like me, but the game isn’t without its qualities. This is an adorable platformer that set out to look, feel and play like a classic 3D platformer from the Nintendo 64 era, and it succeeded with honors. I hope the game receives a patch or two to fix some of its janky physics and jumping mechanics, but you can still have a great time with it right now. If you, like me, grew up playing titles like Glover, Chameleon Twist and Croc, look no further: Frogun is an adorable nostalgia bomb you’re going to appreciate."
"FROGUN will definitely be one of most underrated games of 2022. With a pitch-perfect N64-era presentation, intuitive yet challenging gameplay, tons of replay value, and oodles of charm, there's certainly a lot to love. So, hop to it if you're up for the challenge. 🐸" - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
Paying homage to the era of the PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64, Molegato’s platformer Frogun atmospherically echoes with a warm sense of nostalgia.
