Sorry but no. This is far from a perfect 10. This game needs a whole lot more to reach a 10. Look past the cat thing and realize this game is devoid of important fundamentals.

More natural cat enemies to fight like a variety of dogs or a dog boss or two. Would've been cool if your robot buddy fought those enemies or gave the cat powers to fight or traverse the world similar to metroid you gain abilities. Would've liked if in the beginning you didn't just fall in the pit but was pushed in by one of the cats in the group so you have a reason to get back to your group. Maybe some npc that actually matter where in moments in the game you control the npc to further the story of vengeance. The game just feels shallow and as a result pointless. Needs more alot more. But that's just me. To each his own.

Haven't played it yet. I'm sure it's lovely, no doubt about that.

I wouldn't make a decision based on what WaPo recommend though.
