Everything is 'not delayed' until it is.

Jin_Sakai1053d ago

You can’t tell me it releases this year and not have anything to show yet. They released the first trailer 9 months ago for crying out loud.

GamingSinceForever1053d ago

He just told you that it isn’t getting delayed. The game needs no introduction so not sure why everyone is up in arms about not seeing much. It’s going to be cross gen using the same engine as the last game.

Silly gameAr1053d ago

I know you guys want GOW to be delayed, but it's getting kind of annoying always seeing you guys in PS articles talking about games being delayed that haven't been officially delayed.

Lionsguard1053d ago

Why are people so eager to watch trailers? The game is going to be good, you're just spoiling yourself. In fact, I wish I had never seen the first trailer considering it had a pretty huge spoiler in it itself.

outsider16241052d ago

I just don't get it. If a game is delayed what's wrong with it. It's not like It's the end of the world you know. You can always play other games. This generation of gamers i tell you ..if there's no trailer no. 2....they riot. Like their life depended on it.

Imagine The Last Guardian...that game skipped a whole gen and it was one of my anticipated games. Was i crying back then..hell na...i played other games and forgot about it until they released it finally for ps4. And i bought it and still enjoyed it.

cluclap1052d ago

Yall are being impatient it's hardly july!! Still got 6 months in the year to frickin go!!

bloop1052d ago

@outsider: "It's not like It's the end of the world you know."

*Putin and NATO sit in their corners inconspicuously.*

darthv721052d ago

Isnt there a state of play scheduled for this?

MIDGETonSTILTS171052d ago

It takes months of work, minimum, to planned a polished reveal.

If the options are show more gameplay and launch in 2023, or make everyone crazy with no info but they launch 2022, still….
….then I think everyone would happily choose the latter.

1052d ago
seanpitt231052d ago

They are not going to wait until September and say it’s out in December no chance.. I
If it doesn’t get a release day within the next month it’s not coming out this year it will be an April 2023 release

I wonder what fans will do if it is delayed?

jznrpg1053d ago (Edited 1053d ago )

Wait until it comes out and then buy it .

Im gonna watch the grass grow. Great pasttime.

EvertonFC1053d ago

If it was to get delayed it would be a max of 3 months but guess what it's not the end of the world.
There is more to life than gaming you know, if a delay effects you I'd start maybe going therapy

darkrider1052d ago

Play other games that are coming, we don't need to wait until summer of 2023 to have a new game...

When the game was slated for 2021 Cory said it wouldn't be delayed. So just because he's saying it won't be delayed to 2023 doesn't mean it's true. I do hope Ragnarok comes out in 2022, I just don't think this is proof of anything.

northpaws1053d ago

And it is always "Next E3" until it is not.

1052d ago
darkrider1052d ago (Edited 1052d ago )

First comment. Again it's amazing. He just told it isn't, but you know it best. I understand you have much time to spare until 2023...spring or summer... Every single day is the same thing on Sony news.

I comment on things as I approve them, so yes, I’m typically first or one of the first to comment.

“ I understand you have much time to spare until 2023”

So you’re saying Ragnarok WILL be delayed into 2023?

Plenty of third party games to play though so your statement is inaccurate.

Mobis-New-Nest1052d ago

The only reason it would be delayed is if Sony is undecided if they want to offer God Of War Ragnarok as Day 1 Release on PlayStation Plus Premium. Right now all signs point to yes they'll do it.

MrNinosan1052d ago

What????
Why would they put it on PS+ Premium?
There is absolutely no reason for it and an extremly bad move from a business perspective.

gangsta_red1052d ago (Edited 1052d ago )

This game was already delayed once, I doubt they'll push it out another year

Vengeance11381052d ago

lmao what a bad take. We know you are SUPER desperate to see GoW delayed cause you get that high from negative PlayStation news but sorry kiddo, ain't happening this time.
Get your endorphins elsewhere.

GoodGuy091053d ago

The fans are growing impatient. Only natural since the initial plan was 2021 and there hasn't been anything for 9 months lol. Honestly I wish they would just push it to 2023 to avoid crazy crunch and tons of content being cut...

But well I hope I'm horribly wrong and they are doing fine and a date is set in stone eh?

FlavorLav011053d ago

Don’t get Santa Monica mixed with 343i. “Tons of cut content” in games is not really been a Sony 1st party issue. They actually seem to know how to foster and manage their studios efficiently. So it might be a year late total, but we did have a pandemic, we know the kratos voice actor had some medical issues - and they waited for him, and we know the caliber of Santa Monica’s work at large. They’ve always delivered, every game tends to be worth the wait. Unlike some games which are still lacking fundamental content after having one of the largest development budgets ever, being delayed a year, and having been out 9 months now. Lol

excaliburps1053d ago

Most likely set, as there is no way Sony has no big holiday game planned. Ragnarok is that game or they’d have announced something in its place already.

jBlakeeper1052d ago

Sony doesn’t really do big holiday games but here’s hoping this year is different. The latest Sony typically releases a first party game is September. The last three months of the year are third party games mainly.

sourOG1053d ago

This is my most hyped game of the year(s) and I’m as patient as I’ve ever been. I personally like that they skipped dlc and jumped straight back into the story development. I feel they are respecting my time in that move alone. Full focus moving forward. They didn’t rush this thing, it’s not a milk job.

I was like 70% sure it was going to release in 2021 and I was wrong but I’m not mad lol. My expectations are high so take the time needed is how I feel about it. Not star citizen time but a delay or 2 whatever lol.

Wrex3691053d ago

This is good news. We need some game to impress on the holidays lol

well... its not quite what I was expecting but still nice they honor the spartan.

VenomUK63d ago

What an absolute half-hearted and shoddy way for Sony to commemorate the epic God of War series. A few alternative skins and the option to buy t-shirts or vinyl. It would have been better to not have any celebration. Abysmal.

No offense Sony… but nobody is playing God of war ragnarok in 2025…

andy8564d ago

Every month in 2025 God of War Ragnarok has had more steam users than Starfield.

Inverno63d ago

Bruv I'm pretty there are more people playing literally anything BUT Starfield.

Profchaos63d ago

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there was more people playing bubsy 3d than starfield

Profchaos63d ago

Yeah no one at all especially when it just became available to the millions of PS plus subscribers

PanicMechanic63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Maybe it’s because I sold my Ps5 last year and built a new PC. But ragnarok I finished in 2022 when it released. Don’t have any motivation to replay.

Profchaos63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

It would have been nice to have a PS plus drop of the ps2 original though I get that

Cacabunga63d ago

I actually installed it again today to try the latest roguelite DLC. Costumes is a nice addition but def expected something else.

Killer2020UK63d ago

Mate, I only started playing the previous one. It holds up unbelievably well considering it was a PS4 release

Chard63d ago

Damn Sony
You keep on remastering recent games and yet choose not to for a franchise that's celebrating it's 20 years?
I'm sure a lot of old and new fans would appreciate being able to play the entire saga using their current gen consoles.

Shane Kim63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Sure but that would require to actually remaster. Not selling the same game from last gen in a new box and call it remaster.

Profchaos63d ago

I admit I got a bit swept up in thinking we would get a PS classics drop of the first game on PS plus not a remaster or anything just running under the new ps2 emulator id be.halpy with that or the PSP games that deserve more praise really

New in-game content incentives coming to PlayStation games on PC

Playstation writes: "Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users.

An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management."
