Game Vortex: All Star Cheer Squad Review

Game Vortex writes: "You might have read my review of All Star Cheer Squad for the Wii. After playing it, I was really wondering how they were going to translate such an active game to the handheld market.

Graphically, the cheerleaders don't look very different from each other. Granted, it didn't help that I managed to choose the exact same features Becka has so they looked like twins on the screen. Really though, they have different skin (four choices) and hair colors (including normal colors, plus pink, blue, and even one with bright red and green streaks) and a few different hair styles, but other than that they all look alike. They are all the same height, body size, and body shape. The backgrounds are pretty generic. They're pretty, but there is nothing really outstanding to them."

WorthPlaying: All Star Cheer Squad Review

WorthPlaying writes: "All Star Cheer Squad is pretty much what I'd expect Bring It On: The Game to be if it were to be made into a game. Just like the "Bring It On" movie, All Star Cheer Squad puts you in the role of a junior cheerleader on her first day at cheer camp and introduces you to an increasingly bratty group of other cheerleaders who get by on lame insults and challenges to your "spirit." The game plot isn't all that great, but it fits in with the general perception of cheerleading. I'm not trying to say that all of the characters are less than positive, but man, why would anyone put up with this stuff?"

VGGEN: All Star Cheer Squad DS Review

VGGEN writes: "Yipe stripes, this game bites! Anyone expecting some handheld analogue to the entertaining Wii Cheer had best take a step back and reconsider blowing their hard earned dollars on this stinker.

Take note of this first comparison. The closest kin to All Star Cheer Squad? The Bratz games for the DS, or perhaps even Zoey 101. Whoa, there. You heard that right. Still care to read on?"

VGGEN: All Star Cheer Squad Review

VGGEN writes: "I think it's safe to say by now that cheerleading sims are not my cup of tea. In fact, the majority of gamers wouldn't give All Star Cheer Squad a second glance as they breeze through the Wii section at their favorite store. However, for its intended audience (namely little girls or even some adults who have always wanted to be cheerleaders) it's actually quite the solid title."
