Its really exciting times to have brawl games on PC. We only had brawlhalla but no nick all starts and multiversus is also coming. Hell yeahhhhh

Vanfernal1057d ago

Hopefully between the voice overs and being on Plus this game gets a healthy user base. The game had good quality and potential but the lack of voices made it feel like a fan made game.

8 months after release? That seems bizarre. Appreciated, but bizarre. Can't help but wonder if that would have helped it just that little extra if this was there when it launched.

Microsoft should give the genre a try after they complete the Activision Blizzard acquisition.

TheColbertinator841d ago

Throwing money at a fighting game won't save it alone. Look at Jump Force

Asplundh841d ago

No Jump Force wasn't a great game, but Killer Instinct(2013) which became a bit of a crossover fighter itself was well received, MS could get Iron Galaxy(one of studios behind it) to give it a shot.

Sgt_Slaughter841d ago

We already joked about this in the days of PlayStation All-Stars.

It would be Master Chief, Baird, Marcus, a car from Forza, a plane from Flight Simulator, and Banjo. That's about it.

Asplundh841d ago

Battle Toads, Crash, Spyro, Doom Guy, Pip Boy, Conker, Overwatch characters, Lost Vikings, Killer Instinct characters, WOW characters, Psychonauts, Minecrafts Steve.

Hell put Tony Hawk's ass in there swinging skateboards at people.

camel_toad841d ago

@ asplundh

I like that Tony Hawk skateboard clobbering idea.

CS7841d ago

The problem @Asplundh is that it would feel cheap.

Even if the deal goes through Xbox hasn’t earned Crash/Spyro l etc yet.

What makes these games work is beloved characters in related worlds coming together.

Crash vs Masterchief would just be soulless and cheap as MS brand has no investment in the Crash brand.

Anyways, soulless and cheap is on brand for MS so it just might work.

MadLad841d ago

Yup.
That's totally, 100% honestly the only thing they could pull from.

Do I need to put in that this is sarcasm, or can you admit that's highly BS?

Between Xbox, Bethesda, Activision, and Blizzard, MS have so many iconic franchises and characters at their disposal. They could pull it off. Though I don't think a platform fighter would suit the brand. Either a 3rd person action fighter, or a first person hero shooter/brawler would be a better fit.

New character reveals for Smash Bros hits harder than every other platform fighter

CorndogBurglar840d ago (Edited 840d ago )

Because no other platform fighter has done it as well as Super Smash Bros. It's really that simple. Even Multiversus, which is ALMOST as good as Smash Bros, still falls short.

It's hard to make a genre based game when no one puts in the effort to make it any better than the OG.

sadraiden840d ago

This just in, modern developers attempting to clone Smash, can't make a better version of the game that's existed without competition for 30 years.
