Lol anybody with even half a brain or any gaming knowledge knows that the only franchises Microsoft are known for are Halo and Gears. Sony has so many that even if I tried to list them all I know I'll be missing some.

has God of War. It wins hands down. dont bring in halo dont bring in gears. MAYBE mario or link or metroid (but i'm talking about PS2, XBOX, 360 and PS3 genres). i love great single player experiences and imo God of War gave me that great feeling. How anyone never thought to place a game in ancient times with a brutal spartan to take revenge on "evil" gods is beyond me. nothing gave me a better feeling than ripping an enemies arm off (while holding an axe) and launching the arm and axe at the enemies face. that did it, game over. Creative and Genius!

Some of the best games are always first party titles. Sure there are exceptions to the rule but in general, this is the way it works. At the moment, Sony has the largets internal and first/second party studio[s]. This is why I feel they have the most winning titles. And no, I do not gage winning titles by sales but by how much fun I have with them.

Sony has Team ICO. Out of two attempts, Team ICO has made two of the most innovative, creative, emotionally appealing games of all time.

Microsoft has nothing on Team ICO. Absolutely nothing. Except sales. Thing is, we're asking "who has better franchises" not "who has better selling franchises."

Sony has been around for longer so has had time to build a lot of franchises
Sony has the largest first party developing team so can create and support franchises

so they should win but to be fair you can argue that microsoft's franchises are better cared for as they advertise them well and ensure sales

It's easy to see Sony has the best exclusives, best and largest online games not to mention innovation this gen. Microsoft has some good exclusives but the ps3 edges it out. 2008 has been an awesome year for MS and Sony. With the console race being so close 2009 will truely show who has the best gaming experience.

I prefer the 360 over the PS3 (When push comes to shove) and even I'd say that there's no question of it - Sony has the better franchises, but for some reason they overlooked Nintendo here and I think Nintendo will certainly have the most marketable franchises.

Sony has more established franchises, which really is a no brainer but the most recognisable franchises is nintendo without a doubt (even if they are girly)

Sony wins hands down when it comes to exclusives and first party games & franchises that's why i bought a ps1,ps2,ps3 but i will buy the new xbox720 or what ever it is called if it has at least 10 great exclusive games and i don't want no crap games i would have bought the xbox360 but it has like 5 exclusives games that u can find on pc so no go there for me lol so sony wins

On the 360 side Pizzagaki has have mass effect, fable, halo, gears of war, star ocean, splinter cell, dead rising, lost oddysey etch.

On the PS3 side Pizzagaki has uncharted, mgs4, mstorm, R2, Killzone etch.

Whether you like ps3 or 360 exclusives depends on your taste.

The fact that this is even posed as a debate is an insult to Sony as a whole. Microsoft can't technically claim they even HAVE a first party. Sony's lifeline this entire generation has been their brilliant first party lineup innovating and bringing out the best in the PS3. Microsoft's lifeline has been 3rd party support and better looking multiplatform games+DLC. To even claim that Microsoft has anything on Sony OR Nintendo's first party is by giving Microsoft too much credit. Stop babying them, if they want to play with the big boys they need to earn it.

Snake wins with the Railgun in arms. Everyone asks the question "Who would win in a fight?" OBVIOUSLY Snake..no doubt, BUT when it comes to the games, I love them both. Splinter Cell is a much different experience than MGS, and I like it. I love blowing stuff up and snapping necks with Snake, but I also face raping people with Same fishers palm and knocking guys out.

Sam's story has started to come out with Double Agent which I liked, and they are sticking with the story in Conviction, which I look forward to, but OVERALL I think MGS trumps SC in both Story and gameplay.

anyway...

Conclusion: I like this podcast, they are kinda funny and they bring up valid points. Yes they are PS3 biased BUT they speak a lot of truth.
