Microsoft Going Commando for Next Generation: New I.P. hinted?

Split-screen.com writes "Maybe the title is a bit absurd but it aptly describes Microsoft's enthusiasm to carry forward the fruits of hard labor sown by its entertainment division specifically sprouted by the Xbox division. Gamasutra has been running quite a number of Microsoft advertisements pointing not only to the next generation for the company but towards the already know new internal studio titled "Spawnpoint" taking the helm that was once presumably occupied by Bungie for its coveted Halo series. The posts range from Project Manger, art director to senior development engineer."

Pizzagaki thinks this could be the metal gear style game MS said they would make.

Twenty bucks says it's a shooter. Anyone care to take me on that bet? You must have Paypal. Send me a PM. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes.

El_Colombiano6024d ago

LO FREAKING L! $20 pair of shoes? Daddy seems cheap!

Sarick6024d ago (Edited 6024d ago )

Could be a version of home.

Probably named World or Universe. << one up *make it sound bigger.*

BattleAxe6024d ago

Actually, by going Commando they are probably thinking of leaving the processor exposed without a casing so that RRoD doesn't happen again. ;)

LMAO! Absurd title indeed! I don't know if you know, but in the UK at least, this title would suggest that Microsoft are going to go without underpants next generation... (Was also the case with Ratchet & Clank 2, though that name, I presume, was intentional. It was changed in EU for that very reason)

caladbolg7776024d ago

Same in the States. "Going commando" implies that you aren't wearing boxers/briefs/panties under your leggings.

SL1M DADDY6024d ago

My wife likes it that way. ;-)

With Halo 4 and Gears 3 as launch titles???

Yes please!

By then the 360 will be 6 years old! It would have had a good run, and no doubt M$ will continue to support it for a year or so after the launch of the 720...

Sony say their consoles are for 10 years...

The PS2 is 8 years old, but come on!! who wants to play on old gen hardware NOW?
What a stupid thing for sony to say.

So while the PS3rd (if it still exists by then - cause we all know the company is in trouble...) will be 5 years old, the 720 will pop in, and suddenly reduce its graphics to slag.

you know, we might end up seeing stagnated leaps in next-gen...

So from this point on, the Xbox's and Playstations will never launch together again...

ForROME6024d ago

this article was so misleading lol, also made little ripples in the water=Fail

prowiew6024d ago

Spawnpoint? I never heard of is existance.

Megatron086024d ago

I guess words like "new" and "start up" are just to big for you

prowiew6024d ago

I mean that the article says the already know studio spawnpoint and it is the first time I hear this studio.

The Evil Within Deserved More: A Great Horror Series Left Behind

The Outerhaven writes: While I hold Bethesda's The Evil Within series as some of the best Survival Horror games available, it's clear that Bethesda has no intention of revisiting the series. While Capcom is still working on its Resident Evil series, I look back at the now-dead survival horror series from Bethesda, wondering why the series was left wide open, and yet still not revisited.

An OK horror series left behind. It had some great ideas, but it never knew how to play to its strengths. Instead, it came out like just another RE4 clone.

I would love for a third entry to come out, but it needs to learn to lean in on the psychological aspect and move away from the generic "pew pew" ideology at the center of the gameplay loop. It doesn't need to abandon it; it just needs to put it into better context, is all.

Also, try a first-person perspective instead. Too many 3rd-person games with nothing to offer but an avatar taking precious screen space. At least make it an actual option and not that janky-ass mess the second game pretended to have.

PS5/Pro/Switch 2 version of RDR2 seems most likely. I’d love a RDR3 but that seems years away

Cacabunga1d ago

Id be happy for just a 60fps patch

OmegaSoldati1d ago (Edited 23h ago)

Agreed, but at the same time RD2 came out in 2018. Could it be a remake of Red Dead 1?

Spoiler:

Marston died in the end of Red Dead and Red Dead 2 is set before that. Im curious now. What news could it be?

mkis00716h ago

I'm pretty sure the next game will be another prequel as the story really has no where to go as far as being a western after red dead redemption. The next game will end with the ferry boat incident.

Their contracts are iron clas if they leak anything legit they are threatened with immense legal action.

My hopes for what this is are minimal its probably a meet and greet with the cast

I dont see why they would be involved in a upgraded version of rdr2 when the dialogue hasn't changed

thorstein22h ago

He seems to have been cleared to do this as he purposely picked up the game, streamed it, and made the announcement.
