‘Halo Infinite’ should have been delayed again. Season 2 is proof.

Longtime Halo fans have understood this since launch: “Halo Infinite” needed more than a year’s delay.

Delaying the game over and over isn’t going to fix the problem when 343i are the problem.

porkChop1076d ago

Yup. Great gameplay but the content rollout has been excruciatingly slow. 343 just doesn't have what it takes to pull something like this off.

Eonjay1076d ago (Edited 1076d ago )

Something made a point that you want to delay a game to avoid a cyberpunk situation then someone noted that cyberpunk was delayed 4 times. So point taken.

kayoss1076d ago

This is what happens when you put a AAA game like halo on Gamepass. 343i is not making money, so there is no need to rush out more content.

Jin_Sakai1076d ago (Edited 1076d ago )

“This is what happens when you put a AAA game like halo on Gamepass.”

Here we go again. It’s 343i that’s the problem. Halo 4 MP sucked, Halo 5 campaign sucked, Halo Infinite content sucks.

Halo Infinite was in bad shape before it was even revealed. They lost 2 game directors and delayed the game a year and still launched with the least maps of any Halo game to date.

S2Killinit1075d ago

@Jin
Yes, They sucked because the incentive is lacking.

Got to agree game felt pretty lifeless to me, I really struggled to finish the campaign as I just didn't care half way through.
And multiplayer was ok but became stagnant so quick. I was really disappointed. 343i are the problem

northpaws1076d ago

When your boss tell you to do something, you do it, it is your job.

Phil in the other hand needs to be responsible for this, he has to foresee the problem, either pull the plug, steer it to the right direction, give them more resources, or find a different studio.

Finding the wrong team for a project, is no one but Phil's fault.

-Foxtrot1076d ago

Phil can’t do no wrong

He’s a God

Haven’t you heard

LOGICWINS1076d ago

Halo: Infinite will be dead once the entire COD back catalog comes to Game Pass. I suspect 343 knows this, so they have little incentive to rush out content.

Microsoft needs to give Halo to Machine Games or ID Software. 343 needs to be shut down immediately.

1Victor1075d ago

The developer aren’t the only ones to blame it’s easy to blame them when stuff goes horribly wrong the studio had a hard set deadline(console launch no matter what is sacrificed) and the game got delayed because it didn’t had the visuals quality that was expected of a next gen console compared with their competitor launch games. Is it a bad game not by a mile according to the hardcore fans here did it needed more time that is obvious as the time the developer would had to make “extra content “ was used up to polish the game to the point it is.

Microsoft got as much or more to be blamed and I don’t see anyone saying anything just blaming the developer for poor upper management decisions and lies.

frostypants1075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

NEXT time will be different! /s

They keep making the same mistake: trusting this half baked studio. Strip the franchise from them already.

Delay Halo, Delay Gears (Of War) 5. Delay Crackdown 3, just delay everything...

Orbilator1076d ago

Actually that's all they have delays and promises. Nothing out worth talking about.

Just Phil promising on what's to come.

Billions of investment and zip to show for it.

awiseman1076d ago

Well they use that money to hire people based on politics and not talent. This is the result.

Father__Merrin1076d ago

Uninstalled campaign very flat the open world doesn't suit halo. Multiplayer is pretty good though

ChubbyBlade1076d ago

Campaign was a sanitized mess. Violence was toned down for kids, the villains were Saturday morning cartoon characters, no blood, marines are basically invincible, no dread, no biome diversity, vehicles are useless and not fun, etc.

northpaws1076d ago

I think they needed to stop from scratch... with a different studio, it is beyond repairs

A Halo with co-op is not a Halo.

Live services is not the answer to everything. I hope other highly anticipated games don't become live service shit.

franwex1076d ago

They were correct to release it when they did. Let’s look at the meltdown regarding the Bethesda delay. Microsoft has a severe drought of games after all, and people will still buy it anyway.

FlavorLav011075d ago (Edited 1075d ago )

I respectfully disagree. They should’ve delayed the console launch all together until they had one or two games in the chamber to start the new gen. Going an entire year before a single 1st party team was ready with a single product was just foolish. But instead it was more about racing out door for market share’s sake, PR’ing us to death about gamepass, and more promises about a future that still seems pretty far off.

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop157d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia157d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator156d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
