UE5 is going to unlock a lot of potential for smaller developers to make big games. I wasn't impressed with earlier versions with texture pop-up and Vaseline. But this engine is finally getting there.

Should be impressive as long as developers don't use the same assets without changing them as we'll end up seeing a lot of me too games looking similar. We don't want that.

I'll say this though, a "The Samaritan" videogame or even "Infiltrator" videogame would look mighty good about now.

I’m hoping…

I mean whenever a new Unreal Engine comes out we see impressive demos, but rarely a game that lives up to the demos.

The Samaritan would make for a cool game. Epic doesn't turn their tech demos into games but they should. Quantic Dream listened and made Kara into Detroit, and look how well that turned out.

Agreed. But you forgot about this one chop. The assets in the early unreal engine 3 tech demos became gears of war.

So, when they made the other tech demos, I was hoping for actual games. An action one and a stealth one. But it never happened. Just more gears. Not bad. But I wanted more new IPs.

porkChop1130d ago

Oh damn. It's been so long since I've seen those. I never really noticed, but yeah there's definitely some Gears in there.

whole lot of "meh" if im honest

repsahj1130d ago (Edited 1130d ago )

...I'm totally agree with you. Aside from pretty graphics, they should improve the combat much more.

PhillyDillyDee1130d ago

Somebody explain to this fella what a tech demo is.

zsquaresoff1131d ago

Apart from the invironment, that looks very ordinary.

RaidenBlack1130d ago

You do realize this just a mod created by a Youtuber?

The Unreal Engine 5 is the only thing that has looked next-gen this entire generation of consoles. Two years in and every game except maybe Ratchet & Clank could have or actually was done on the last gen hardware. Outside of higher resolution and framerate, not much differences especially if you don't have a newer TV to take advantage of those upgrades. Just go look at Gotham Knights demo compared to this tech demo.....

Returnal was next gen. The fluidity of the game was top shelf. It was breathtaking.

repsahj1130d ago (Edited 1130d ago )

that's missing with this game, fluidity of combat.

Arkham knight has better physics
