It sure looks like Sonic 3 won’t have its original soundtrack in Sonic Origins. Here’s why

A long, hard look at the complicated history behind Michael Jackson and one of gaming's greatest soundtracks.

Then no buy

GTA was the same when they released versions without most of the songs (and the other bad things but still)

This is why physical is important, getting rid of the previous digital versions because this is coming when it'll end up being the inferior version.

dangerousbrian01093d ago (Edited 1093d ago )

No other version of Soinic 3 has had the Original Soundtrack apart from the Original Physical version that released on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis the reason I am making this comment is because of this part of your comment {This is why physical is important, getting rid of the previous digital versions because this is coming when it'll end up being the inferior version.} That part made it seem that other digital versions had it in but they never I am surprised no toher person has picked you up on it as your comment has been posted for quite awhile.

Well...I have the original and a Sega Mega Drive

NotoriousWhiz1093d ago

I played through Sonic 3 and Knuckles on Xbox and I don't recall any of the music being different from the Genesis original.

VenomUK1093d ago

Why would the music be replaced? I know the original compositions were based on some of Michael Jackson’s songs but the final music was owned by Sega wasn’t it?

chinesedentist1093d ago

This is not true. The wii virtual console version has the original music. Sonic Jam on Saturn has the original music. The Sonic Mega Collection AND the Sonic Gems Collection had the original music. You really don’t know what you’re talking about.

Kinda figured otherwise Sega would said something months ago.

Knightofelemia1094d ago

I'll just stick to my model 1 Genesis and Sonic 3 game.

TheColbertinator1093d ago

Keep the game then. That OST is part of why Sonic 3 was so legendary.

ZycoFox1093d ago

Seemed like a half assed release before this news anyway, but would Sega even admit the reason for different music if it's true? Maybe they'll give some dumb excuse for having different music rather than telling us the truth.

Or they'll just replace the music with no explanation.

Sonic Origins Plus Audio Quality Is "Painfully" Bad, Say Fans

Gearing up for its launch later this month, Sega has shared some gameplay footage from Sonic Origins Plus. This expanded version of last year's compilation game has a bunch of new features, but the main pull here is its inclusion of all 12 Sonic games released for the Game Gear. However, it seems that their grand debut on modern hardware isn't going to be as great as fans had hoped.

Sgt_Slaughter685d ago

Amazing how two sure fire releases of this collection have gone bad

ZycoFox685d ago

And including GG versions of games instead of MS.

gold_drake685d ago (Edited 685d ago )

how can you screw up twice with the same game lol

ZeekQuattro684d ago

Thankfully I'm no where near the Sega fan I once was. Looks like I'll be skipping this Origins collection as well. But hey they say third times the charm. Maybe with Sonic Origins ++ Sega will get its shit together. 😕

-Foxtrot684d ago

Sonic Origins Plus is what the original should have been (minus the audio issues)

The real Sonic Origins Plus should have included more games like Sonic Rush or Knuckles Chaotix

We did have it good. The sonic og cartoons and sonic x, the sonic games (sonic 1-3 and Sonic adventure 1-2). We had it good. Also sonic shuffle a good party game for the DC. Spent countless hours playing that game single player or with siblings.

Oh look at that, we did have it good. This article is dumb.

__SteakDeck__688d ago

Ahhh. Did you forget the 90’s? When Sonic was at it’s peak. Or were you too young or not alive to really understand that?

ZeekQuattro688d ago

Sonic fans were eating good in the 90's and early 00's. There was plenty of Sonic content to go around.

Sonic Mania Dev Confirms It Helped SEGA with Sonic Origins Plus

SEGA is making some big changes to Sonic Origins with the expanded re-release, Sonic Origins Plus. Comprising a new playable character in Amy, Knuckles playable in Sonic CD, and a dozen newly added Game Gear games, it's a clear effort from the publisher to turn the retro collection's fortunes around. While it's catching a bit of flack for excluding the Master System versions, fans are largely quite excited for the changes.

However, Sonic Team hasn't been dealing with this on its own. Indie developer Headcannon — known for leading development on the acclaimed Sonic Mania — has confirmed its involvement in this new package.

That's excellent now bring that arcade game to consoles and I'm complete frfr

ZycoFox765d ago

Kinda baffling why they didn't use the Master System versions of the games, not even sure why they felt the need to zoom in so much with the Game Gear versions, would've been nice if you could choose zoomed in or not.

MadLad764d ago

I mean, Frontiers seemed to come out pretty solid. So there's that.
But it's sad that this amateur team is outdoing the main Sonic Team at this point.
