Star Citizen Update Alpha 3.17 Released Bringing New Content & Features Aplenty

It's taking forever, but I can't help but hope that they someday pull it off. It's looking more and more like an actual playable game and not just a series of impressive but empty features.

Just to put it into perspective, this game was announced (game and Kickstarter campaign) in October 2012… with the money they’re making with it still being unfinished they have zero incentive to actually finish the game. Promise forever and hope the whales continue to pay using the “I already paid so much, I can’t stop now” mentality. It’s why slot machines are so popular world wide. Hard to quit when you’ve already invested so much.

As far as i can gather they expanded their ambitions and spent a lot of years working on tech. A couple of years ago i read that they had finally reached a point where they could start producing content, since then it seems to have been expanding.

I'm not following it closely, but I do know that the alpha is available and playable and apparently there's a whole lot to actually play in it. I don't think it's a scam, just an overly ambitous project with questionable management and infinite money.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The last "SC shows new grass physics and crosses *insert number* million in crowdfunding" got a lot of pushback and suddenly the format has changed.

Hmmmm I wonder why 😂, I swear this writer is PR and/or a shareholder for this scam... sorry "game".
