A recent Halo Infinite stream was interrupted by a teaser for 'Lux Voluspa,' which could point to several things coming in the future.

Do these guys really and I mean REALLY want to take something else on whether it's a battle royale, narrative online event or even a brand new IP when they can't even handle the multiplayer they have now, making a 3 month long season into 6 months while delaying co-op and forge.

Baby steps, focus on the issues you have now.

Atom6661142d ago

Yes, really. They have to, don't they?

They need to keep working on content, so of course they should be taking on more. BR, events, cosmetics, etc. all need to be in the pipeline or else that 6 month season only gets longer.

Plus, basic development process tells us that you can't just assign all of the devs and contractors to assist the teams working on co-op and forge. Your art folks, narrative, sound, etc. aren't going to change their field of speciality to suddenly be able to start coding a co-op system.

Sciurus_vulgaris1142d ago

343i needs to encourage MS to allow 24-36 month dev contractors . Contractor are only on for 18 months. Contractors should stay on with the company longer, which I think would allow for more efficient development.

Obscure_Observer1142d ago

You guys complain about lack of content, then you just go ahead and complain about more upcoming content.

You guys just can´t be pleased. (rolling eyes)

Oh stop doing what you always do on these articles and twist it in your favour by turning it into some fanboy thing

I literally said why take on even more, promising more, when the original plans they should have done ages ago are being delayed.

Focus on getting what you said you were going to get out first THEN start working on more

Spreading your team thin and promising even more content will just end up blowing up in your face even more when you fail to deliver...again.

Because they’re adding experimental content before adding in the legacy features the ENTIRE community wants.

This just reeks of "Guys, we're planning a series of reveals during the former E3 season... Halo is one of our biggest franchises, and we need something new to show." ... b...but, sir, the unfinished game modes aren't ready! "I don't care if they aren't ready, put that aside and throw something else together so we have something to show!!!"

Jin_Sakai1142d ago

It’s literally just a new AI.

Zeref1142d ago

Idk if it's just that. There's a date within the trailer that points to June 14th.

That's too much hype for just an AI

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop207d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia207d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator206d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
