Elden Ring Bosses Ranked by Difficulty - 30+ Hardest Bosses in Elden Ring

BLG Writes: "Elden Ring bosses, just like the game, are a step up to the Souls series. The hardest bosses in Elden Ring offer immense variety and feel inspired by Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro." The bosses in this list are ranked from least to most difficult and are largely influenced by BLG's decision to run a Faith/Dex hybrid build with Bloodhound’s Fang as the main weapon.

Elden ring has more bosses than botw has all enemies and bosses combined 😂😂😂

Botw = 14 enemy types including all bosses

Elden Ring = 30+ bosses 😂😂

That's how you make an open world game...... Not empty

Gianoni331155d ago

And people are complaining about the bosses repetition...

Oh lord, take a look on BOTW, GOW or any other nowadays game...bestiary are just too small

lucian2291155d ago

Even with the few repetitive bosses... It still far outclasses botw in variety and enemy ai.

Literally the final boss in botw is all the Divine beast bosses one after another and then a horse ride where u shoot arrows at weak spots (also ripped from other divine beast battle)

And the rest of the encounters are just goblins or goblin type enemies and the lynel..... And there is literally no caves or populated areas with enemies or things to explore.... Botw was fun but it was like playing an alpha where it wasn't done.

Brazz1155d ago

30+? There are at least 50 unique encounters vs a given boss, this game is S tier on enemy variety, and DLC will further improve this. Also, there are easily +100 bosses in the entire game. ( Some are, of course, reused).
BotW is a joke compared to Elden Ring.

Chriswynnetbh1155d ago

BotW was a joke the day it came out let alone before being utterly put to shame by ER

Vithar1155d ago

134 bosses :) as you say some repeats ( duos, trios etc etc )

-Foxtrot1155d ago (Edited 1155d ago )

Elden Ring is the game getting universal praise where you can say “I totally get it” whether you enjoyed it or not. It had issues but the pros totally outweighs the cons.

BotW is like “okay…we’ll made game overall but it’s nothing special” then you see people totally over hyping it saying it’s the best game of all time and it makes you think “I’m sorry did we play the same game”

Elden Ring is what BotW should have been based off all that over the top hype

This is how you do an open world game

Imalwaysright1155d ago

"This is how you do an open world game"

And it was BoTW that showed FromSoftware how to do it.

-Foxtrot1155d ago (Edited 1155d ago )

" And it was BoTW that showed FromSoftware how to do it "

Bullshit

Elden Ring would have happened either way, going off their past games it was slowly evolving

It's such a stuck up pretentious thing to say, this is the issue with die hard BotW fans, you guys think this game created the open world genre and any game after it was released should thank it for being made or something. Like you don't believe talented studios such as From Software would have been able to create anything open world like without BotW.

Want to know something, even if you can't stomach it, BotW is a mixture of so many open world games over like 10 years. It had a few moments here and there but its nothing unique, I could go in a straight line for 15 minutes in old games such as Skyrim or the Witcher 3 and find more variety in that than I do in BotW.

Imalwaysright1155d ago (Edited 1155d ago )

"Bullshit"

No, you're the one that is full of shit and I brought the receipts to prove it in my comment below wich makes the rest of your comment absolutely hilarious. You clearly never played BoTW. If you had you would have noticed that it was designed to maximize player agency and freedom. Elden Ring does the same and that wasn't by chance as you can see in the link I provided below.

lucian2291155d ago

Lmao @imalwaysright

I'm sorry but skyrim was open world done right..... Not botw....botw wasn't all that free.... There was nothing to do what so ever lmao. You find heart containers which aren't needed because the game is so easy....and you have to pay 20$ to unlock hard mode....please give me a break lmao.

The only comparable open world for Elden ring is skyrim in its vastness and variety of content to do and discover.... There is literally nothing in botw. You unlock all the rune powers early and only have the master sword to work towards as a collectible..... All the weapons have the same move set and yeah.... Botw is meh.... It's just an expensive demo, why do. You think they delayed it.

You're still so triggered over BOTW's reception five years later, that you feel the need to bring it up in an unrelated article, to compare it to a new release on better hardware?

It was a great game, deal with it. Elden Ring just happens to be the best game of at least the last five years, you could make just about any game look weak in a comparison like that. Like it or not, BOTW helped pave the way for Elden Ring's open world.

-Foxtrot1155d ago

"Like it or not, BOTW helped pave the way for Elden Ring's open world"

Elden Ring would have happened with or without BotW

Imalwaysright1155d ago (Edited 1155d ago )

-Foxtrot

It would have happened. If Elden Ring would be the same game that we know to be today is an entirely different story as Miyazaki himself stated that he studied BoTW most particularly its design and freedom. If you understand german here's the interview https://www.4players.de/4pl... and if you don't google translate is your friend.

@ EmperorDalek

"BOTW helped pave the way for Elden Ring's open world."

You're absolutely right but to understand that simple fact people need to play BoTW instead of coming to websites such as these and making fools out of themselves by talking about things they know nothing about.

lucian2291155d ago

Literally nothing from botw is in Elden ring that is seen. Skyrim had horses and a open world lmao

OMNlPOTENT1155d ago

This site needs to crap on BOTW to feel good about themselves. Pretty pathetic tbh

Imalwaysright1154d ago (Edited 1154d ago )

lucian229

I guess you didn't bother with the link I posted but I don't mind making a fool out of yourself as well.

Translation: "In preparation for Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki studied some open world games, including The Elder Scrolls or GTA. No title served as a specific inspiration for Elden Ring, but when asked which one he liked best, he expressed great respect for the design and the freedom of play in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. "

Unlike 99.9 % of open world games available on the market, BoTW was designed to maximize freedom, player agency and exploration so I'm not sorry to say that you're either a literal idiot or you didn't play BoTW at all because it's simply not a matter of opinion. Everyone that has actually played it, including Miyazaki understands what sets BoTW apart from other open world games including Skyrim, a game that didn't influence Miyazaki at all.

If you think that a game that is constantly telling you where to go and what you have to do like Skyrim does is open world done right then good for you but spare from your stupidity or ignorance wichever the case may be. BoTW offers more freedom than any other open world game with a designed experience including Elden Ring. Everything about it from how the world was designed, it's mission structure, it's physics system, physics based gameplay and traversal options were done to maximize player agency, freedom and exploration beyond any other open world game and that is something that influenced Miyazaki whether you like or not but hey thank you for allowing me to laugh at your expense. These...

"The only comparable open world for Elden ring is skyrim"
"botw wasn't all that free"
"Skyrim had horses and a open world lmao"

lucian2291153d ago

all the souls games had inspiration from zelda, even demons souls. that's fine, you can be inspired from anything and make something great........meanwhile botw was free-ish (Except for 20$ hardmode lmao) but there was nothing to do. no unique weapons to find, very little armor (though alot for a zelda game) and no enemies. it was just an empty sandbox game with a million of the same light or bomb puzzles to get more heart containers.

it was just an empty game, i'm sorry your feelings are hurt but there isn't even a cave you could explore lmao.

Imalwaysright1153d ago

Nothing to do and yet Miyazaki respects its design and freedom while he couldn't care less about Skyrim, the game that according to you is "open world done right".

"Free-ish" BoTW is the pinnacle of freedom and player ageny in open world games that have a designed experience. Not even Elden Ring offers as much freedom. In fact, it isn't close to offer as much freedom so if we describe BoTW as being "free-ish" then surely other so called "open" world games should be called "closed" world games.

I enjoy those boss battles and figuring out a way to beat them. The game doesn't make it impossible. There's always a pattern, the right timing to attack and roll away to eventually beat the boss after a ton of deaths. Frustration for me is going back to the 90s fighting games with cheap ass bosses with AI that could pull off moves instantly reading your movements within a millisecond. Beating them means getting lucky

Black-Helghast1155d ago (Edited 1155d ago )

pretty much anyone can agree that Melania is the hardest, right? Radagon/Elden Beast I beat it first try with my mimic tear and I'm a lvl 125 str build.

however I think the BEST fight is Elden Beast. it's music, scenery and aesthetic are just top notch. another worthy mention is Mohg, Lord of blood. had a ton of fun fighting him and he straight up felt like a bloodborne hidden boss.

HeliosHex1155d ago

In reality none of these bosses are hard if you have the right stats, gear, weapon. Summon. If you find yourself dieing alot to any of these bosses you lack or are missing what I just mentioned. They put malenia as the hardest boss when she staggers easily and is weak to blood loss. I took her out in minutes using rivers of blood, a talisman that enhances attack of blood loss, and summon tiche. Previous dark souls games had way harder bosses even with the right stats and equipment you were in for a fight. In elden ring that does not seem to be the case. All bosses can be steam rolled easily when your properly equipped.

Hmmm. Alex Garland’s other work is amazing so I’m definitely interested.

senorfartcushion20d ago

I've always found him pretty meh.
He's a very indecisive filmmaker.

Goodguy0121d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Why? These live action adaptations have been oh so terrible lol. I know sonic is successful but I just couldn't enjoy the first movie. You cannot adapt a full game especially a 70+hr rpg into a small 1-2hr movie without many cuts.

But I suppose their goal is to reach more people with these films I guess.

anast20d ago

It all depends on the creative talent in these projects. Last of Us and Fallout are good, but Halo is sad.

InUrFoxHole20d ago

I thought halo was pretty good

Tacoboto20d ago

I understand opinions and all but...

What in the world was pretty good about the Halo series??

FinalFantasyFanatic20d ago

The only video game adaptation that I felt went above and beyond was the Sonic movies, and they almost fumbled the first one, Mario was alright too.

-Foxtrot20d ago

I'll get downvoted to hell for this but despite Jim Carrey as Robotnik I think the films could have been better, they shouldn't have included the real world, they should have stayed on Mobius. Hell I would have rather seen animation since the Sonic Mania / Origin cutscenes were great.

I still think the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA movie is better.

PapaBop20d ago

Usually agree but give Alex Garland a chance, his other movies are amazing, this is clearly a project aiming for a high standard as opposed to just some shameless cash grab.

Tapani20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Agreed, given his track record and in-depth research he puts into each project, not to mention writers and subject matter choices he makes, I would absolutely give Alex Garland a chance. I'm intrigued, and think he has a good chance of making this work.

Pyrofire9520d ago

They'll probably not include the side quests

Same! You can make an argument for each Miyazaki game but this one and Elden Ring always seemed like a god choice for live action (or animated series)

anast19d ago

That's what I'm thinking.

gold_drake20d ago

i meam, theres alot of material there sure but ... most of these enemies are .. non human.

is the movie gonna be mostly cgi? ha.
