Halo Infinite Season 2 Adds New Maps, Weapon Changes, Jeff Steitzer's Voice For BTB

"Since the launch of Halo Infinite, we’ve been paying close attention to community feedback, addressing what we can in a timely manner, communicating what we’re working on with “Closer Look” blogs, and prioritizing future content and features internally based on that player input."

Massive update? They’re adding ONE slayer map after six months! We now have a total of 8 maps excluding BTB and the ones now are getting repetitive.

I was thinking they'd do 1 for slayer, 1 for BTB, then stagger a 1-2 more for each part-way through the season.

If seasons are going to be 6 months each, I was thinking 6 new maps total per season would be pretty fair.

Fingers crossed their priority is just more focused on forge and coop. Maybe Season 3 could start the "massive" updates with a campaign add on+ 4-6 new maps.

For now...sigh...

I'm not here to say anything negative about Halo Infinite because I've only briefly played the multiplayer so can't make a fair judgement on the experience. But what I think it underlines is that making multiplayer games is difficult because of the sustained support required. Sony trying to establish itself with online games made from scratch would face an uphill battle with no guarantees of success, so its purchase of Bungie now makes sense in that it helps accelerate production of online games and adds a level of experience and quality control.

They are putting out content for this game at a snails pace. Pitiful efforts. Still no coop either.

Paying attention... Just another nail. Really don't understand. 343 doesnt know how mp gaas work... The lack of everything is unbelievable. The list of stuff that gamers want it's easy to see in any forum of halo.... Easy...

annoyedgamer1142d ago

The list of what gamers want for most games is in every forum. But corporate boards aren't reading those forums and have no intention to.

I’m just curious which game mode they’ll break for the next two months.

ChubbyBlade1142d ago

As long as the store works, then their priorities are met!

Haven’t touched it in 3 months. Shame as it is my favourite shooter franchise. Well the bungie games. Infinite just isn’t replayable. It’s meta is too sweaty to be fun. The sandbox doesn’t even mesh well. The vehicles make you more vulnerable than they are useful as well so there goes half the fun.

The maps are also not great and all feel the same with 3 lane style design.

The violence is also very VERY light compared to previous games. No blood or assassinations.

Plus all the hideous immersion breaking cosmetics. I can buy a Spartan with a bright coat of paint. I can’t buy a Spartan with a glowing Mohawk and cat ears. This is supposed to be a military sci-fi series ffs. Why are there samurai running around? Sure there was the hayabusa in 3 and some others in reach but it was like 1 or 2 cosmetics that took forever to earn. Infinite is just full of ugly shit.

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop185d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia185d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator185d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
