I’m not understanding where I needed validation in buying what I want to buy? Nor did it matter on “finishing what you have before buying another one” my enjoyment of having a game when it first releases doesn’t change if I buy it for 20 bucks cheaper a few months later.

There's no way this is an 8/10. People are going really easy on this game for some reason.
The demo was awful, poor graphics, poor performance, poor dialogue, rubbish looking character's, absolute nonsense story and it's meant to be an origin to Final Fantasy! one of the biggest gaming IP's in the world. I just don't get it. The combat was okay I suppose. I just expected more. Well if you like it have fun!

Yeah lm sus as hell too. l had a rant at how they're using assets and maps from 10 years ago in ff14. Sastasha a lvl 16 Dungeon is one of the maps. l cant think it's gonna be good coming off that.

I played through the demo and thought it was okay, feels very generic though, especially the story and characters (or the barely there story which it seems like it will be), the graphics look awful and blurry on a base PS4 though (clearly it's best to buy it on PS5, or possibly PS4 Pro). Combat is decent enough, I would have given it a 7 at best though, I think if it wasn't under the Final Fantasy banner, it would have scored a bit less and be a more forgettable game.

The only Chaos thing and Jack though is really silly and memeable though.

Or perhaps your overbloated expectations are only an excuse not to support anything. The games fun and that's all that matters. The story on Elden is horrible, the graphics pale in comparison to Demon's Souls, and the combat is as dated as Bloodbourne. All that said, it's also a fun game. All these expectations from individuals that have nothing but overvalued opinions are only adding more toxicity to an already suffering industry.

the combat isa bit wacky true but it's got so much more ...coolness? to it than the other dark souls games. The summoning of ghosts, some bosses summon npc's cause they want to kill the boss too...its great. The games great. stop being a fucking warlock.

I mean, you've voiced your discontent and whined, now what? My opinion was voiced followed by a clear admittance that in spite of any negatives the game has, in my book, it's still worth playing. Nioh's graphics were dated and its story was horrible though no souls type can match its seamless combat. See how that works? Everything has pros and cons, but the toxicity in you can only see the negatives in a medium where creative freedom should be celebrated/rewarded. I'm sure that attitude is indicative of your real world performances or the lack there of.

Lastly, my opinion isn't above anyone's it's just backed by my investing of millions into the industry I love most. I'm willing to pay full price to find out if I like something or not. Whether good or bad, with my contribution it allows said company to take their earnings to create better product. What is your contribution? A comment? Dude no one is crapping on the heralded Elden Ring anymore than any other game with flaws. We ALL have them and not one example of perfection can be seen in any game. Get out of the newlywed stage and you'll be able to see past your rose colored glasses. I bought Elden, Sifu, GT7, Ghost Wire, Dying Light 2, Stranger of Paradise, Horizon FW, Destiny, Tiny Tina, etc with a realistic understanding that they all will have things about them that I might not care for.

The most important part is they all got my support to create more refined experiences. It's okay to not like something that you spend money on, you don't have to believe that anything said is a discredit to your taste. I'd hope you're not that insecure....if you like it, doesn't matter what I or anyone else says. Confidence and assurance can avoid needless exchanges, to be sure.

Nothing wrong with ff13. FF10 linear, ff12 base before zodiac was mixed . FF7 remake is linear . Base ff15 is mix but leans more towards to being a solid game . Royal dungeons are good and towards the end of the game when it has more structure . The open world part was not good.

So yeah you personally just personally don't like them and that's fine .

I thought the demo was trash. Seems like they're just throwing the Final Fantasy name on it to appeal to that fanbase. I don't really like Souls games so probably not my cup of tea. But because it has FF name/art/music I will want to check out the full version at some point.

Idk man, performance mode looked awful. The 720p backgrounds were jarring to say the least and checking your inventory after every battle because of the loot you collected really turned me off. This is essentially a looter shooter without the shooting so I'm staying the heck away from this.

It was really blurry on the base PS4, I think it's best to get it on the PS5 or Steam if you were ever going to buy it. At least some of the enemy designs were cool though.

Yeah I did play it on ps5 on performance mode. I didn't try resolution mode but always favor frames over resolution but my God it just looked awful. Going from demons souls to this was just terrible. The game play was fun but the loot system ruins it for me.

Really? With the PS5 being such a big step up from the PS4 spec-wise, I imagine the game should have looks much crisper/sharper, I felt like I was playing a PS1/PS2 game with how blurry it was on PS4. I didn't even bother with graphics mode, having the higher frame rates is more important, especially in action games like this.
