Abandoned's Blue Box Game Studios Hidden Audio Log Found

A Blue Box Game Studios hidden audio log describes AI-generated video games in poorly-translated Japanese, likely another ploy by Studio head Hasan Kahraman to ride the hype of a Kojima conspiracy.

At this point it’s just funny to check back in. I will not buy this game and have no interest in it now. Why would someone buy his game when he has played off of the hopes of gamers for months now?

CptDville1208d ago

The pyramid scam of video games.

Magog1208d ago

Not really since they haven't made any money. You're thinking of Star Citizen.

Sgt_Slaughter1208d ago

Since this wasn't in a Star Citizen thread, the hardcore defenders weren't able to downvote it and look what happened. Love to see it.

1208d ago
gleepot1208d ago

this has nothing to do with the concept of a pyramid scam

SullysCigar1208d ago

Came here to witness the community meltdown all over again. Don't disappoint me guys and gals!

GhostofHorizon1208d ago

They've lost any good will from me at this point. Show me something meaningful or don't show anything at all.

DarXyde1208d ago

Honestly, I still think this has Kojima's fingerprints all over it. I think it's Metal Gear. This all feels like an annoying but elaborate way to come out later with "Kept ya waiting, huh?"

Sony's oddly quiet about this. They're oddly quiet in general, but knowing that we know about psvr2 and it's been too long since they've caught us up on anything, it feels like there are some seriously massive reveals coming.

Can't say for sure obviously... But there's too much weird stuff going on, and I still think Blue Box is part of this strangeness we're living through.

Ethereal1208d ago

I completely agree. This feels so much like something he would do and while it has gone on too long maybe that's the point; to show how deep the rabbit hole goes when it comes to peoples responses to all these bait and switch games. I feel like it's a commentary on the state of the industry.

Despite all of that, no one has been able to explain to me why this fake announcement of a real game from a small indie dev with a history of releasing nothing but failures landed a spot on the PS blog. Sony hasn't commented on it, removed the post/video, it has a native PS5 app that they are continuing to update and push notifications to the news feed. If this is all just a scam, it makes entirely no sense that Sony would continue to support it let alone have a MASSIVE PS logo on Bluebox Studios website. I personally think there is a big surprise in store for this whole thing. When we get it is another matter all together, but it's coming.

isarai1208d ago

I don't think so, if you do some digging you can see this guy has done similar campaigns before, and those equated to nothing much

porkChop1208d ago

Kojima already did the whole fake game and fake studio thing. He's not going to do it again. Especially with how sloppy this whole thing has been. Kojima is meticulous about how he pulls his pranks. Blue Box is a real studio with a track record of announcing and cancelling games. They were formed before MGSV came out. You're telling me Kojima set this up before he left Konami? Before he released Death Stranding? Get your heads out of the clouds. Kojima has nothing to do with this.

Ninver1208d ago

Blue box, as in a box snake hides! I'm convinced it's metal gear lol

Dirtnapstor1208d ago

Agreed. This Hasan is probably AI and we've all been punked again by Kojima. Wishful thinking.

DarXyde1208d ago

Ethereal,

My thoughts exactly. It's just too strange to have Sony so on board, only for this to be non-committal vaporware. It's very strange. I'm wondering if there are announcements within announcements at this point. To an extent, Kojima is predictable... And perhaps he didn't like how quickly The Phantom Pain was figured out. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong...but this feels like a massive misdirect.

Isarai,

Isn't that also reason to use this guy? Because people would be inclined to believe he's full of it and Kojima is capitalizing on that, allowing the title to hide in plain sight?

porkChop,

Is it a fake studio though? Perhaps KojiPro are absorbing them? I think we're all very much playing into the feeling of paranoia, which is probably what Kojima wants. Is the theme of this new game connected? The feeling that something is there, but others convince you that you're wrong... Only to realize you were right all along? Something of a Candyman effect?

It's clever, and when you think about it that way, it makes complete sense: it's like MGSV's nuclear disarmament campaign. His trolling has moved beyond the individual into a more societal form. In that case, what would the condition be this time?

I have no earthly clue on any of it... But I do believe Kojima is up to something here.

Yeah I agree with that, I'm all for mystery and surprise and happy to be tricked but there is usually a time limit to these things and this ran out a while back

Sierra made the games of my childhood. Are they still fun to play?

Get ready for some nostalgia.

Yes,
and I absolutely loved the logo of Sierra for some reason.
Maybe, mainly because of F.E.A.R. 😈

Levii_9212h ago

EXACTLY what i was thinking!! My thoughts immediately went to FEAR as soon as i read Sierra.

Eidolon1h ago(Edited 46m ago)

Did they develop it? I thought it was Monolith.

gurp10h ago

yes, everyone or at least most people should try to play some of them
I never played any 80s games, but played most of the 90's and early 2000's Sierra games

Cloud gaming still has too many flaws. Fast stable internet, extra costs/subscription services, not ideal for mobile data and why play over cloud via wifi when you have a console/pc that has no input delay and other issues, why buy a game on a cloud service (will always need online even if it's a single player game) when you can actually own it on console/pc...at the same price. Cloud gaming should only ever stay as an option to gaming and playing your games that you already own. Never as the only option.

Tacoboto6h ago

I disagree, in the sense that the flaws are and have been these same known quantities for some time. You know you need fast and stable internet for the best experience. You know it isn't just free beyond Remote Play. Ownership - you know what ecosystem you're in.

Cloud Gaming is awesome when it's there as the most viable option at the time and works. For me, it was like this morning on my laptop playing Pentiment waiting for my car service to finish. For others it's to quick demo a new game before thinking of hard drive space. Maybe Mac users with gigabit internet want to play GeForce Now and buy a game off Steam only to play it that way.

isarai22h ago

As long as latency exists, cloud gaming will never thrive no matter how much they advertise that there's low latency or no latency that always ends up being a load of crap

Terry_B13h ago

I will never support cloud gaming.

darthv7213h ago(Edited 13h ago)

I quite enjoy cloud streaming now. I find it the quickest way to testing if a game is worth committing download time or even $ to buy it. And using dedicated devices like the portal and gcloud makes it all the better.

But like Goodguy says... it's an option, and not the only one. If people understand that, they may start to appreciate this convenience.

lex-102011h ago

I think Xbox is doing Cloud Streaming right, even if I think its only because they're doing hardware wrong.

By enabling xCloud on The Xbox One and Series S they enable players to buy the cheaper console but play games in better resolutions through xCould.

Take the recent Oblivion release for instance. If you play it locally on a Series S it's rendered at 630P and upscaled using FSR to 1260P with a 30FPS cap.

But if you play it on xCloud on the Series S, it's at 1080P native 60 FPS.

So you can get better performance using xCloud then playing local (on the Series S and Xbox One).

CrimsonWing6913h ago

It shouldn’t have required a subscription service. Like do the Steam model and just take the % on software sales or have a sub tier where you pay monthly or annually and get perks.

I’m not opposed to the idea of being able to stream games in the highest quality, but Stadia was so poorly handled it turned into a massive sh*t show.

lex-102011h ago

"It shouldn’t have required a subscription service."

It didn't

"Like do the Steam model and just take the % on software sales or have a sub tier where you pay monthly or annually and get perks."

That's literally what it was. Stadia pro gave 2 free games a month (similar to PS+), 4K visuals, and 5.1 Surround Sound. But if you didn't want to pay you could simply buy the games and play them in 1080P. The core service was free.

But google massively screwed up the marketing which led to people thinking it needed a sub to use.

Bungie Responds to Unauthorized Use of Art in Marathon

Bungie: "We immediately investigated a concern regarding unauthorized use of artist decals in Marathon and confirmed that a former Bungie artist included these in a texture sheet that was ultimately used in-game.

This issue was unknown by our existing art team, and we are still reviewing how this oversight occurred.

We take matters like this very seriously. We have reached out to @4nt1r34l to discuss this issue and are committed to do right by the artist."

"However, one thing Marathon’s been almost universally praised for is its art style."

Eh, I've heard a lot of dislike for the bleak art style. "Universally praised" would mean that hardly anyone dislikes it. This is a pretty dishonest article. I'm personally not a big fan of it either.

https://gamerant.com/marath...

PapaBop1d 8h ago

I don't mind the art style so to speak but watching footage, the world looked really bland and lacked detail, reminded me of a mid budget VR game.

Pyrofire9520h ago

They said it was universal so you might just unaware just how much you do in fact praise its art style.

Notellin17h ago

I have a hard time finding anyone who is praising the art style. All I see are complaints.

S2Killinit11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Probably because the boo boys are more vocal. I mean most of us haven’t really played it and its still in development, so how can we praise it? Meanwhile the boo boys don’t need objectivity to criticize a game that has not launched yet.

The art style, I personally like it. But I also need at least a good lore to get into games as I am usually not a multiplayer only kind of gamer.

FinalFantasyFanatic14h ago

I have never seen anyone praise Marathon for its art style, in fact, I think it's one of the things that is universally hated about this game.

Juiceup10h ago

Since the early days of destiny, Bungie has cemented itself as the undisputed King of being dishonest while technically not lying. They simply don't hype things up or make statements without some kind of bs. Their dishonest marketing speak bs has become their entire brand for me.

You have to look at politics to find worse.

What's shocking is the amount that they've copied, thieving ghouls.

franwex1d 9h ago

At least they’re trying to do right and admitted quickly that it was stolen. I give credit when credit is due.

I also dig the new art style, I know most people are mixed.

1d 9h ago
Notellin17h ago

"I give credit when credit is due."

No you don't and this is an absolute lie. You aren't giving credit to the artist they stole from you're giving credit to the thief. You're a disgusting liar if anything.

Game DOA, this is the closest they will get to mass promotion

FinalFantasyFanatic14h ago

I knew it was DOA from the trailer, yeah, there's no recovering from this, it's Concord 2.0. I dread to see how many more of these Playstation had in production before they changed direction and cancelled the ones that were in the early stages.
