500 hours is needed to fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Techland states gamers need to invest 500 hours in order to fully complete Dying Light 2.

phoenixwing863d ago

If it's like going to see lord of the rings long then I'll buy it for the quality.

CanadianTurtle862d ago

It's a zombie apocalypse game, bro. I highly doubt you'll get "Lord of the Rings" quality in a product like this. Zombie invasion fiction has been around for so long, I doubt this is going to break any grounds and be worth 100+ hours.

CoNn3rB862d ago

The first Dying Light was pretty good so here's hoping the quality carries over, 500 hours is a bit excessive but if I feel like I've had my monies worth after 100 hours I'll be happy

sparky77863d ago

Exactly, this number is nothing to be proud of.

They revised it to below 100hrs for just the story but that still seems over the top.

CobraKai862d ago

Yeah. I dunno, after 40 hours, I feel like I just want the game to be over already

frostypants862d ago

Guys, this is clearly just for getting every stupid trophy. If it's too long, don't obsess over being a completionist.

Nikodemsky863d ago

The main quest line will be probably around 50-70h, rest of the content might be challenges, different routes, subquests etc. which is important to keep more hardcore playerbase; i would be really suprprised if there wouldn't be same plan for releasing dlc's as for first game.

The keyword here is "fully complete".

lelo2play863d ago (Edited 863d ago )

500h seems like a lot unnecessary filling.
Better to have a good 20-30h open world game then a boring 400-500h open world game, that most people give up after a few hours.

KyRo863d ago

It's not really that long. The title is click bait.

BrainSyphoned862d ago

Yes the devs did post a very click bait marketing graphic. The title is accurate though. Devs putting an asterisk statement without an asterisk on the graphic isn't the titles fault.

KyRo862d ago

They said if you were to replay it and see all the different out comes of the choices you would make it somewhere around 500 hours. The game itself is not 500 hours

Palitera862d ago

Don't worry, you'll be able to buy "shortcuts" to have a proper progression curve, because "player-first".

Damn that throws my AC Odyssey hours at 165 out the window

Kaii863d ago

When AC throws up adverts like this I know it would be a long tedious journey, don't know how I feel when other IP's throw this out there. lol

CaptainHenry916863d ago

They say in the tweet: Note: "It's about 100% completion rate, most of the players who are in for story and side quests will be able to complete the game quicker, it will still be a solid experience though!"

IanTH862d ago

You have to hope a Platinum (or all achievements playthrough) won't require 500 hours to get. If so, expect basically no one to have one lol.

Lexreborn2863d ago

As long as it’s as great as the first one then I’ll probably barely notice.
