Nice. Decent series for a time.

Knightofelemia1272d ago

I just might have to grab this I never got into .hack when it came out back then.

jznrpg1271d ago

I have all of them that released on PS2/3/4 otherwise I would consider it .

God this game was so awesome back then and the separate trailers for each Vol. 1- 3 still give me chills when I go back to watch them on Youtube (they just dont make trailers like that anymore nowadays).

One of my favorite games from PS2 days. While its features may not be as fleshed out as the modern day rpgs I hope y'all do enjoy it.

I wish Bandai/ Namco would support this series more than poor man’s Dot. Hack aka Sword Art Online

gold_drake1271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

unfortunately,.hack isnt as popular over there.
the series was definitely ahead of its time, maybe even too early i think. id would have sold loads nowadays. i personally loved all the games, g.u. maybe not as much as the original 4 but they were decent games

pietro12121271d ago

The originals were amazing. This will be my first time playing the G.U series though

Why the .Hack Gaming Series Needs a Remake

.hack (Dot Hack) is a gaming series that started when technology was still evolving and growing. These games showed us some of the horrors but also the best parts of online gaming. But these games are decades old, and perhaps it's time for a remake, a remaster, or even a game in the series.

the OG games, yes they do.

but.. they are very niche to begin with.
bk then, i only knew one person who played the games, beside me.

franwex683d ago

I downloaded the whole series in a sale, but have yet to play them.

gold_drake683d ago

yea they are a commitment haha.

especially the G.U series.

Goosejuice683d ago

U would think they would have made an actual mmo out of this game

gold_drake683d ago

i think they had a mmo of it, in japan only. could be wrong tho.

Pyrofire95683d ago

I think you're right. But I could be wrong too.

Quetzll682d ago

You guys might be right. I could be wrong, but you guys definitely might be on to something here. Who knows??? Pretty sure i heard something about that years back, but i could be wrong.

Knightofelemia683d ago (Edited 683d ago )

The Xenosaga trilogy also needs a remake or at least a remaster. I never got into .hack when they came out on the PS2 I would try them out. A remake or a remaster would be great I am not paying an arm and a leg for the original games.

YungDragon683d ago

I've been wanting a new entry to this series for so long.

What Modern Anime Tie-in Games Can Learn From a Forgotten PlayStation 2 Series

Anime tie-in games are nothing new, but they often fall short of fan expectations. The .hack games did it right, and developers could learn from them.

YungDragon939d ago

I really want a new entry to the .Hack series

Played the hell out of the original games back in the day, but never got to the GU series.
Was really hoping this was a big compilation of the games, but oh well lol.

VersusDMC1092d ago

.hack GU last recode includes all 3 parts plus a 4th new one. Usually on sale under 20(Ps4) but never bought it.

MadLad1092d ago

Might finally take the dive next sale.
