VersusDMC1015d ago

Looks amazing!

When she glided next to the flying robots i so hoped she would climb on...there's still hope.🤞

mkis0071015d ago

I think everyone had to be hoping that. Being a cross gen title though, idk if the streaming speed could keep up with how fast flying ones move...on ps4.

DarXyde1015d ago

Guerilla had some outstanding solutions for technical design on PS4 hardware. I'm not at all worried.

dumahim1015d ago

We'll see what they can pull off. They said it themselves they couldn't do flying in the first game because of the streaming issue. Might be possible now since it seems someone found a way to improve loading speed on the PS4 not long ago. Was it Sucker Punch and a couple games were patched after Ghost of Tsushima and also got faster loading times?

RaidenBlack1015d ago (Edited 1015d ago )

Wish the video was longer than a minute with a bit more new content.
Hope to see a 60fps gameplay some time before release.

-Foxtrot1014d ago

GG knows the number one thing we wanted from the original was being able to mount the Stormbird and fly it, if they don't do that in the sequel a lot of people will be super disappointed.

Ah bugger it, didnt get round to finishing HFW

andy8529d ago

Still got a month, I loved it personally. Worth finishing

Rebel_Scum29d ago

lol not enough time. Still going with ER and Black Myth.

Killa7829d ago

Can you not continue to play it as long as it's downloaded?

P_Bomb29d ago

The app gets locked iirc.

nitus1029d ago

If you are playing on the harder difficulties then you could be looking at well over 100 hours of gameplay and I am not taking into account the "so called minigames". Of course the ultra hard dificulty will add many tens of hours to the gameplay since the enemy is toughter and can detect you easily especially if you are trying to strip parts from the robotic enemies which you really need to do if you want to upgrade your weapons and armour. Smoke bombs can help here.

IMO the game does have quite good replay value.

Abnor_Mal29d ago

I still have to play Forbidden West and the dlc. I don’t have to worry about Premium since my digital code came with my console and then I bought the dlc when that released.

nitus1029d ago

From what I can gather you need to finish Horizon Forbidden West before you can play "Burning Shores". Still you will need to put in well over 100 hours especially if you are playing on the harder difficulties.

As for the ultra hard difficulty I hope you are willing to die allot especially in the first 30+ hours of the game.

Abnor_Mal29d ago

Oh I plan to tackle Forbidden West and Burning Shores during the winter months. The have a few games to tackle come this winter.

Back in the days I use to finish a game in three days, now in my older age I struggle to keep myself interested. So no ultra hard difficulty for me, I’ll stick with normal and hard (maybe) thank you very much.

Dying a lot, might as well be playing a From Software game.

DivineHand12529d ago

Not sure what you were waiting for, but Forbidden West is a great game. Burning shores content should be played after you beat the main story. A quick tip I can give you is that don't be in any rush to kill any machines, instead scan and break off the parts because crafting is huge in this game. The consequence of this focus is that battles now last longer and you will be spending some time grinding machines for crafting materials. You also want to unlock perks that increase medicinal plant yield from early in the game so you will have a surplus by the time the difficulty increases later in the game.

Abnor_Mal29d ago

Thanks for the tips.

“ You also want to unlock perks that increase medicinal plant yield from early in the game so you will have a surplus by the time the difficulty increases later in the game.”

Is it really that much of a significant spike in difficulty?

DivineHand12529d ago

@Adnor_Mal

"Is it really that much of a significant spike in difficulty?"

Eventually you will be taking on bigger and more dangerous machines later in the game and the difficulty comes from trying to detach the crafting parts from the machine while avoiding the attacks. When you get to that point in the game where you are grinding for machine parts, you don't want to also have to grind for medicinal herbs so I recommend you get those perks early and loot every twig and herb plant as you move from point A to point B.

First party titles leaving PS+ doesn't make any sense.

Why removing a game of their own studios HFW out of their own service, it doesn't make much sense...

AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Gen 15% Faster than DLSS 3.5: Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West

Nixxes just added FSR 3.1 to all recent Sony titles on PC. This update improves quality and temporal stability while boosting frame rates by up to 10%. It also allows you to pair AMD’s open-source (works on everything) frame generation with DLSS-based upscaling.

I'm genuinely curious on results when stacking DLSS+FSR. I imagine it will create some inconsistencies but I haven't seen any circumstance where they're paired.

Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough because something like this would definitely be tested and analyzed.

DustMan81d ago

DLSS plus AMD frame Gen can be used together via a mod that's easy to install on most games that support DLSS 3.0. It's a difference maker and both work very well in tandem with each other. I can see it being implemented moving forward as the Frame Generation aspect of FSR does not need to be coupled with it's it's upscaling tech. That said. FSR is getting better with each and every upgrade. Honestly it's getting hard for me to see a difference at this point with my 40 year old eyes.

Started up Last of Us, and honestly I had a really hard time finding quality issues with the new FSR vs DLSS. Yes. DLSS has an edge, slightly noticeable when you stop moving and analyze all the details. However I'm not playing games to simply judge the games fidelity.

If AMD can figure out how to beef up their Ray Tracing performance they'll really be on to something. I personally will find it difficult to buy another Nvidia GPU when I fear a set of features will be locked behind a paywall in 2 or 3 years.

Zeref80d ago (Edited 80d ago )

It shouldn't be a problem at all. The tech is completely independent of eachother. If NVIDIA wanted to they could do the same.

Have you ever seen God of War, Horizon, Death Stranding, or FF7 go from 16:9 on PS to 32:9 on PC? Its like a totally new experience! 120FPS helps too.

just_looken84d ago

yet be it on console or pc aloy will never be in the center of the screen that always got to me.

Oh and the framerate drops on ps5 never played H2 on pc yet.

But yeah you can not beat pc for the xess/fsr on any game with any card and that ultra wide when a game support's it.

I have been enjoying some days gone native 4k maxed out at 120fps locked.

Eonjay84d ago

Nixxes is really off the charts with their PC support. Honestly Sony made a really good choice by purchasing them.

Fishy Fingers85d ago (Edited 85d ago )

"Major" exaggeration but sounds fancier than "improved upscaling over FSR3"

The actual interesting thing with FSR3.1 is theyve decoupled the frame gen so you can use it with a better upscaler, DLSS (useful if you dont have a 40 series).

Tacoboto84d ago

I'd say it is pretty major though. Five Nixxes titles in one day, their entire PS5-PC portfolio including their earliest port Spider-Man Remastered.

It's rare seeing a unified approach like this covering years of titles. Nixxes must have an incredibly thorough and consistent tech stack to pull this off

Fishy Fingers84d ago (Edited 84d ago )

Agree. Impressive support.

Although im sure you actually understood what I was saying. Its an decent incrimental update to AMDs upscaling software which is arguably the worst of the big 3 solutions. Native, these games still look better, as they do with DLSS.

Tacoboto84d ago

Oh yeah I upvoted you too, totally understand what you're saying (and I know my framing of "major" is different than the article's)

just_looken84d ago

It shows what a real port studio is unlike iron galaxy

I agree its rare but i also see it as a sad situation with the millions/billions made we should have seen this with many many other games in mass updates. But sadly only a few games are using 40 series tech then fs3 can be used on any game but the big features are per game dependent its like come on now.

Atleast when you see nixxes you know your getting a quality port.
