Halo Infinite: ‘Streets’ Multiplayer Map Revealed

IGN : Halo Infinite will be released on December 8, but in the meantime, IGN has exclusive coverage of Master Chief’s spiritual reboot all month long as part of our editorial IGN First “cover story” initiative. That means we’ll be dropping exclusive content throughout the month of November (and yes, we’ve played the campaign – the first four hours of it), starting with today’s reveal of a brand-new Arena multiplayer map called ‘Streets’.

This map has a cyberpunk look to it! Hopefully we see some alien maps soon. Can’t wait to play this game.

I love the design of this map, it's a pity couch multiplayer isn't much of a thing anymore.

New Mombasa (where this map is set) is from Halo ODST. Looks very familiar if you've played ODST.

Map actually reminds me of a gun game map from counter strike source

Such a graphically underwhelming game. What have the devs been doing for the past 5 or so years!

Getting the gameplay right hopefully. Gt7 could learn a lot there. Photo realistic headlight filaments do not make a good game (cyberpunk too)
That said I don't like halo mp, emptying a clip for someone to bunny hop away is irritating as hell.

They have to focus on so many things compared to Playstation exclusives without multiplayer or coop. They build the engine while developing the game. PC + 4 console ports. Separate servers for PC and consoles. Anti-cheat software for multiplayer. New multiplayer maps built from the ground up + a huge campaign (Forge later). The Playstation offers you an 8-10h SP campaign, that's all .... less work.

"The story would have been expanded through yearly campaign DLC, so players would not have to wait for another mainline Halo title." ~ this seldom works
But I still think, they should've tried 1 last Halo sequel based on that slipspace engine, that they invested so much on but made for current gen only, before going all in on UE5.

Call me a cynic. But it seems that not even the people working in the studio know what’s the status of Halo.

They were going to add a BR mode, which then got cancelled, but now it’s a sequel to infinite, but may be a reboot of the first game?

It may be normal for development to be like this as super Mario galaxy started as cut content from Mario 128, which then became a tech demo, which became pikmin, which eventually became Mario galaxy.

But 343 or whatever they are called now-certainly don’t have a good track record so it makes me wonder what’s happening.

porkChop160d ago

The Halo: CE remake is a separate project from the Infinite sequel.

Knightofelemia160d ago

Maybe all the staff got laid off.

TheColbertinator160d ago

I'd be much more comfortable with the future of Halo if "343" or whatever they call themselves now were no longer in charge of the series.

WTF!!!? Can we add Tic-Tac-Toe, maybe Connect 4? How bout the card game Go Fish? Microsoft should shelve the Halo Franchise for 10 to 20yrs or sell it clearly they have no new ideas to take Halo forward and putting a "Hey gamer finish the game for us" mode and we can make more money off it and we can fire some more game Developers that we really don't even care about.......Microsoft is done even trying to make Halo a game worthy of even a little bit of our time.
