Forgotten in 2008: Soul Bubbles

Bubbles is a particularly organic puzzler, not operating on any confining grid or bound by a strict rule set, allowing your bubble to gracefully dance through the environment, tenuously squeezing against mushroomoid buttons and catching on nuisance vines as it grudgingly tugs in futility.

The game holds obvious comparisons to WiiWare's debut hit, LostWinds. Watercolour backdrops set to a minimalistic, ethereal score; nudging puffs and gracious sweeps from the consoles' respective inputs; and a symbiotic relationship between protagonists.

Mobile version of Soul Bubbles shows signs of life

After a long time of not giving any signs of life, it seems that the iPad and iPhone-version of Soul Bubbles are still alive and coming soon.

Soul Bubbles floating its way to iPhone and iPad in October

Remember Soul Bubbles on DS? Maybe you don't – it was a bit of a niche title, after all.

It was an extremely good niche title though, and one we gave an 8/10 Silver Award back in 2008.

The good news springing from GamesCom 2010 is that a conversion is being worked on for iPhone and iPad. In fact, Eurocenter’s port of the Mekensleep game is well into production and set for an October release.
