Of course. I'm finally able to play the game and Sega looks like its wants to pull out. lol Even if this turns out to not be true I'm am very familiar with how Sega can be. They killed Sega Heroes and that Sakura Wars mobile game with the quickness. I could see PSO 2 suffering the same fate in America at least. It would certainly explain why they are slow to update content and fix bugs. Somethings up.

They won't be shutting it down yet, this game is too important to Sega. The game is not in a good place, I have been one of the most vocal people when it comes to pointing out the flaws, but one thing I am certain of is that they won't be shutting it down any time soon.

If the game is still in the state it is in now by the end of 2022, then yeah, you can probably start expecting Sega to make plans for shutting it down.

So important it took MS - dumping loads of money - to get them port a game the West has been begging FOR YEARS to bring West?

Wouldn't surprise me. They knew the demand for it in North America for years and years. Was so hyped to get into this when there was the unofficial translation patch. After Sega put a stop to that, because they were FINALLY working on the English version. I lost all interest. They were just stringing people along for an absurd amount of time. Luckily, it led me to start FF XIV. Which is a vastly superior game anyway. So, I can at least thank them for killing my interest in PSO2 and leading me to FF XIV.

Not to mention FF XIV had one hell of a reboot after it's original launch was a disaster. New Genesis overhauled the games look, but what I read was that it had less to do than the original. They messed everything up making a deal with MS. Too many people were looking to play it in the west and the whole exclusivity and Windows Store being bugged killed the hype.
Honestly FF XIV has basically cemented itself as "go to" MMO of you're looking to get into MMOs

Though I highly doubt that’s the case cause the popularity is there, it’s just when I started playing it seems stale and was buggy in some parts. Other than that I used to play, though it would’ve been cool if they optimized it for the Xbox Series X|S consoles.
