Today Bandai Namco released two new trailers of its popular cross-generation JRPG Scarlet Nexus, showcasing upcoming content and more.
Gaming has never been better in terms of sheer quality and scale, but folks who fail to take on new experiences always have the opposite to say.
Cherry picking the best examples does not support your argument. The further back you go(within reason, not talking coleco/atari), the easier it is to find a solid, fun, complete experience out the box. Now we literally have charts for releases to let you know if the version u buy is even the full game. Were getting more and more SP games where the game isn't even on the disk, we literally have to research if a game is just a game or a live service platform before getting excited. Sorry no.
Like sure there are still absolute bangers, but they are nowhere near as common and outside those bangers is a sea of trash made by HR departments and investors with no soul, not to mention the AI slop hitting these days. Sure it's always money 1st but 2nd It used to be an industry driven by passion, nerds wanting to make stuff because they had vision, a cool idea, now it's all chasing numbers, data, and trends and examples of too many cooks. I have A broad spectrum of interest when it comes to games and I've always bought all types of games, every generation and this generation. I've bought the fewest amount of games by far, this entire generation and i only have like 15-20games not counting digital only indie games and such. I have over 150ps4 games and over 100 each for ps3, ps2, Wii (great for hidden gems) GameCube, OGXBOX, and other retro consoles.
Things seem to be turning around, i mean look at this years VGAs and Larians speach, but we ain't there yet, and generally speaking, games these days definitely aren't good
ah
so it's the old "anyone who disagree's with me is afraid of change" line
same was said when xbox one restrictions and a lot of the crap was annunce
honestly though, whenever I see a title like this my first thought is "must be from thegamer"
usually i'm either right, or it's exputer
The majority of today's games are disappointing, it's actually more surprising to have a great game come out because we have so many AAA flops. Sure there are enough games to play for the year, especially if you dig into your backlog or play indies and AA games, but I don't think most people will look back at this console generation fondly (unless you own a Switch), nor do I think they'll remember 2024 as a good year for gaming.
Nah no thanks I know better what games I enjoy better then a clickbait site.
I also know my tastes are not mainstream so most games don't appeal to me.
Anyway were all different and enjoy different things.
The Bits & Pieces boys discuss their favourite games of 2023.
These AAA PS5 games are dirt cheap.
I bought Scarlet Nexus physically a week ago for that price. A very fun and addicting game imo.
I’ve noticed a distinct lack in any reduction to PS+ subs this holiday season. Sony trying to force customers hands into paying the fully inflated price.
This is the longest I’ve ever been a non PS+ subscriber since it began. I won’t be the only one. Protest with your wallet or they will keep shafting the consumer!
Its not really mind blowing deals, more like a bait n switch for clicks news article.
Between this and n4g never working anymore, i question why I even bother some days.
Gamepass is in another level. I never would have try this game but now I will.
I played it already but I was shocked when it popped up on my game pass it's an amazing game.
I've been going back and forth about buying this game since release. Yet another reason GamePass is the best deal in gaming. Keep up the good work MS screw the haters.
I kid you not, anyone that says they are a gamer and pretend that they have no intrest at all in GP is full of shit. Yup yup, I said it and meant it.
Forget console wars, of course you can enjoy Playstation and Nintendo systems, shit, you can even play gamepass on your Playstation.. on your PC, on your damn Phone. It's just a plethora of good games at your fingertips.
Its almost like a movie Buff saying, hey..I hate Netflix or Hulu..then my friend, I have to question your Movie buffnest.
It's like a music lover saying, I hate pandora, iheart radio..how much do you like music my friend?
A gamer that is not intrested in over 100 games for such a low price or at least curious is super weird to me, shit dont buy an xbox..how strong is your PC..try it and stop being a tool.
It's funny, I get labeled a MS fanboy..but I literally play all 3 systems and have most of all the top PS games and Nintendo games..I might take a pick of my collection and post it soon.
But I digress...
Seriously get over the nonsense and realize GP is about games.. I think back to when I was a kid and then later in my 20s..fuck man, i would have had a damn heart attack with this much games to play since money wasn't as accessible to me at that age..I see my Sons downloading and playing GP games all the time and I swear its amazing to me the ease of use. $15/month =100+games.
I watch them play Mario and think..damn Nintendo is amazing, I was playing Mario back in the 80s and now my kids are playing them..fucking amazing their longevity.
When we play Playstation. it's like wow..look how far games have come..I'm playing a fucking movie bro! Amazing stuff from Atari until now.
Wow..sorry I typed all that and I understand if u dont read it lamo.
I've been wanting to try this out, gamepass for the win.
