At first, I was sad to hear the license will be transferred to Codemasters, because I doubt they can do it justice, but then I thought about it and losing the license doesn’t mean these developers can’t continue making rally games, and it might actually free them up to go wild on cherry-picking gorgeous locations and designing new original gorgeous tracks which will be fun to drive on.

CM would have done it justice had they not been bought by EA. Now they'll prob screw it up like Dirt 5.

To be fair, even before CM was bought by EA they already had a tendency to gimp their games in order to nickel & dime their costumers post-launch with expensive season passes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Dirt Rally 2, but I only considered picking it up once there was finally a complete release to buy which included all the content. Their DLC practices has also kept me from buying many of their other games.

And let’s be honest, GRID (reboot), DIRT4 and DIRT5 were all (far) less than they could (and should) have been. And F1 has gotten good reviews but has also pretty much been mostly the same for the past 3-4 games, with minor differences/improvements between games.

Codemasters has all the potential in-house to be a truly great developer, but this past generation we’ve also seen them making some ridiculous decisions which took away from the products they eventually presented to their audience. Be it DLC greed or in-game creative choices.

We’ll have to wait and see how things will be now that they’re part of EA, but it’s not as if they were perfect before the take-over.

Dirt 4 & Dirt 2 Rally 2 are epic imo.

Dirt 4 was good, not great. Locations weren’t that much fun, and more than a few of them looked a bit too generic and uninspired. Gameplay was good though.

Dirt Rally 2 is (mostly) great, but only when you get the GOTY/Complete edition, or else it’s lacking in content, which was the point I was making before about CM and their DLC greed … and how that negatively impacts their own products, and thus sales and fanbase.

WRC 10 The Official Game review - ChristCenteredGamer

CCG writes - "This port to Switch, while some necessary compromises were made, largely plays great. It's also completely appropriate - unless you believe hitting a pedestrian should deserve a higher penalty, or consider driving off of a cliff violent. If you have any interest in rally racing games, I'd recommend sticking with PC or the big brother consoles if that is an option for you. But if not, or you really want to race while on the go, then WRC 10 The Official Game on Switch is an excellent choice."

Looks good from the trailer tho but still i wanna pick this up for Nintendo Switch

That does look pretty good. I’m always looking for Switch games that use realistic graphics. If the PS360 can do it, the Switch can do it.
