With an unbelievable look, tight gameplay, and bravura moments which shouldn’t work yet do, Song of Iron breaks away from the pack and stands alone. It is a stunning achievement and an absolute must play.
The Humble Melee Mayhem Bundle just launched recently. It includes ten items including Mortal Kombat 11, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Chivalry 2, and more.
Considering this is the work of just one person, Song of Iron is a remarkably well made and entertaining game. Parts of the game, especially the combat, would have benefitted from more depth, and it can be glitchy and a bit rough around the edges, but it is a sterling effort from Joe Winter.
Joe LaRue of The Koalition writes: What if the world of Samurai Jack was a side-scrolling video game and was based on the lifestyle of a Viking? Developers and Publishers Resting Relic, Escape LLC did basically just that when they created Song of Iron, where you are on a tale of revenge in the vast landscape of the Norse wilderness. Song of Iron is an intense action-adventure, side-scroller game created by solo developer Joe Winter for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Nice!
I liked the look of this game when they revealed it on the Xbox showcase months ago.
I preorder/purchased this game as well when the developer went on a few podcasts and I heard more about the game.
Looking forward to playing it!
