I chance mixed feeling about Metroid Prime 2. I think I’ve beaten Prime 2 three times. I like the atmosphere and enemies of Prime 2 more than its predecessor. However, when I replayed the entire prime trilogy as an adult, I found Prime 2 to be the most frustrating and confusing of the 3 Prime games.

Traveling into Dark Ether was a core at times and some of the bosses felt very poorly designed. I personally think Prime 1 and 3 are better than 2 as an adult. Yet, as a teen I liked Prime 2 more than Prime 1.

I definitely think the first Prime was much better and I found Echoes to be not as much fun with the whole dark corruption gameplay gimmick.

Didn't really care for that one. Had a blast with Prime 1 & 3 however.

Anniversary: 20 Years On, Metroid Prime 2 Represents The Franchise At Its Experimental Best

"Following up on Metroid Prime was never going to be easy. Although many (this writer included) were sceptical of Retro Studios’ abilities to move Metroid into the 3D, first-person realm, the team not only managed to put its own spin on an established Nintendo franchise successfully, but it also created one of the greatest games of all time." - Ollie Reynolds | NintendoLife

I liked the atmosphere and some of the boss fights of Prime 2 more than Prime 1. However, Prime 2 level design could be very confusing at times. The backtracking was also more arduous than what was present in Prime 1.

Wouldn't mind a remaster of Prime 2 and 3
